Description

I've wanted a computer since mid 2014, when I was 14, but every online build I made I had absolutely no clue what I was doing. But in early 2016, I started a build on PCPartpicker. I came from an FX8350 and a 4gb gtx 740 to an i5 6600k and a GTX 1070 when it comes out. As a 16 year old kid, budget was a huge factor. I'm very proud of this build as it combines budget and power. It is also future-proofed to hell and back. This build also has about 5 or so months of research backed up behind it, so it will work well.

Below is why I've chosen each part.

i5 6600k - This is a great new Skylake processor. I got it for 209.99@Micro Center. It's got a great 6th generation architecture, and can be overclocked. I'm currently running it at an average of 40°C when overclocked to 4.4ghz. I could easily go higher, but do I really need to (yet)? (Will update when I get GPU, to stress test fully)

Cryorig H7 - This is one of the best coolers for the price. I got it new from Newegg on ebay for $30 dollars, which is really close to the price of the 212. The thing is, this cooler is much better than the 212 and it looks so much nicer.

MSI z170a Tomahawk AC - This is a really nice board. It has a red and black color scheme which matches my build, but it also has an intel wifi and bluetooth adapter. Even if you plan on using ethernet, the bluetooth is quite nice. It is a z170 chipset so i can overclock my 6600k. The bios is well built and windows 8.1 was really easy to install.

Kingston FURY 8gb DDR4 2666 - This is a really nice single ram stick. Looks great too. I plan on getting another one for future programming/photoshop use. It's also pretty fast. Other than that, it's just a stick of ram.

Seagate Barracuda 2TB - Just a 2 terrabyte drive. Got it on sale for $53 on amazon.

Corsair 650W Semi Modular - A nice little PSU. Got it @ Micro center for $70 with a $20 dollar rebate.

BenQ 23.8 inch monitor - A really nice monitor for $136. 4ms response time, and 60hz. Looks sleek af.

CM Storm Devastator - A $30 dollar LED keyboard. really nice.

GTX 1070 - Getting it in July. Will update then.

Great description and parts. The Core i5 iGPU will do the job until you get the BEAST! :-D

I'd flip around the CPU cooler so it isn't working against the case airflow.

Good idea. I didn't really think about that, I thought of it dispersing the air to the fan for a quick escape. I think it's an exhaust fan and not an intake fan
