Description

posted on first startup, so far so good hope you enjoy. So far the cpu runs really cold , 25C-27C. idle, 32C.-35C. on load.I got the noctua fan inside the fan duct on the side it really keeps the titan cool. I ran furmark for like 4 hours with the fan at 80% and the titan capped at 74C. Which aint bad for air cooled. The top of the case has 2 200mm coolermaster fans , the front one red-led 200mm, and rear one 140mm fan. I should mention the room is air conditioned :).

I was able to hit 3000Mhz cas16-16-16-36 on the ram stable with XMP. Just installed hybrid kit. 25c idle 52c gaming 5930k overclocked to 4.2ghz 24/7 temp- 29c-49c

Why do you put in 3.5GHz, and not 4.0GHz?

I was saying put a i7-4790k instead of a i7 5930k

I think 2-way SLI 980 is a better option for gaming and is similarily priced. You could have taken the 5820K instead too. Nice RAM though ;)

I got the 5930 for the 40 pcie lanes. Hope to get another titan when i got the funds. End game being multi-display 4k. I know the 12 gigs of ram are alil over kill. But i just do not like sli, never did. One gpu, one cpu always works without hiccups IMO.

One GPU and one CPU is the most stable setup possible, but it doesn't mean 980 SLI is a problem, as dual 980 performs far better. I don't think you need 40 lanes for a 2x 16X card, it is unnoticable. Titan X scalability seems lesser than the 980 scalability. 4x980 and 4x TitanX have quite close results.

anadtech ran a similar test and your right the scalability is a tad less. I just thought for now id rather go with one titan instead of 2 980/970 etc for 4k. Ive never gamed in 4k. I had a LG 1920x1080 before it died and it looked great on my old rig, which was a prebuilt FalconNW Q6600 650 ti boost 2gb. I can only assume 4k looks amazing. I know the refresh rates arent that great on 4k as of now. But im hoping it will get better. On a side note i almost waited for the eventual 980 ti. It has less vram but its the same 384bit gm200-310 chip as the titan.

Great build, but cable management could definitely use some work. Take pride in your pc and make it look nice! I see that you do have some cable ties, but in general (if you have the space) stuffing more of the cable in the back of the case will help a lot. It will also greatly increase airflow within your case, even if your temps are good already.

your 100% right.

i cleaned it up a bit. Air flow isnt restricted like before and i pushed as much as i could into the back.

if you have the chance you should try individually sleeved cables, you can probably pick up some from corsair or seasonic in red or black giving your build a clean, sleek look. other than that this is an awesome build! +1

promise i will rectify that today when i get home from mom's(mothers day). I got a buddy of mine coming over to help out he has built 6 or 7 rigs, is pretty good with cable mangement. Thats another reason why i didnt zip tie anything.

I got a bag on 50 zip ties and 20 velcro ties. Im gonna try and push as much as a can into the back and out of the way.
