Description

I was getting into looking at computer parts recently after my friend told me about this incredible website (pcpartpicker).

I wanted to just take my time and wait for some good deals to come along, but I neeeeded a new build for Witcher3 coming up...

Within a few days I saw sales that were around 20-30% on great CPUs and GPUs so I took them and the rest of the pieces fell in place. I messed up the memory compatibility and had to buy another set (the Corsairs), but other than that I had little difficulty.

I decided to add the liquid cooling to keep noise down as well as open up my overclocking capabilities. Should go for it in the next month or so maybe.

I know my cable management is **** and it's not the most researched build. I also haven't bought any benchmarking software so I don't have a lot of details either. However, I had a blast putting it together, and I always like a fun project. I'm also very very pleased with the results.

Hope some of you guys like it!

I feel like there is a lot of pressure about bench-marking software. As long as you had fun building it, and the system does everything you need it to do, who cares what the scores are. Good part selection. Personally, I would have gone with a Cooler Master PSU, to keep it with the case and cooler theme, but that's just me. Learning good cable management doesn't happen overnight. Try a few things and you'll get the hang of it.

Nice first build. That graphics card is so sexy. On another note, do you really have enough of your 512gb of storage? or you have an external hard drive for more storage. Because as a gamer and to top it of, an otaku, this is not enough for me

I stream all of my manga, and since steam has mostly network storage for saves, I usually uninstall and or reinstall games I want to play. I have a Apple Time Capsule on my network for any larger files I need to save for a while, so there's no reason to have a storage hard drive on my box.... yet.

Hi,

Should I consider:

Cooler Master Nepton 140XL; Corsair H100i; NZXT Kraken X60

I believe CM cooler is great for the buck but I'm wary of fan noise. Is that really too high on loads? I'm in the process of finalizing parts for a high-end build based on i7-4790K and Asus Pro Wifi board.

What is your inputs in this regard? Thank you

I didn't do a LOT of research (which it sounds like you are (good for you)). However, I can tell you the CM Cooler I got combined with the case fans that came standard with the case, are INCREDIBLY quiet. As well as having fan speed control on the power switch, I can make my PC incredibly quiet. Even on the max settings though, it's noticeably more quiet than my last build.

I have nothing but good things to say about my cooler master experience so far.

I must do basic research when I spend 5K on a single build. Yes, loudness matters to me because of the controlled environment; silence and coolness.

Appreciate your inputs, thank you

you definitely need to work on your cable management!!!!! 8gigs of ram would have been enough for gaming. Also why didn't you go with a Z97 mobo?

I think I just was just generally too excited to be done with the build to spend enough time on it... When I get some time I should just play around with it until it's pretty

just only recently used them. The voice/software is pretty good but the range on the bass is having some issues on some older games (witcher 2).

Any loss in sound fidelity is more than made up with the advantage of wireless headphones though. I HATED how huge my old set were and how annoying the cord became.
