Description

Built this to take with me wherever I go for gaming wherever a suitable TV or monitor is available. At home I toss it up on the 65" 4k and play. Currently haven't had any issues playing games in 4k at ultra settings, but have only played Shadow of Mordor and Borderlands 2. Everything in the case is silent except for the GTX 980, which when gaming in 4k will sometimes generate minimal noise. I can't hear it over my speakers even when playing at night (I keep the volume low so the roommate doesn't mind), only when muted.

I built for just under $1400 with holiday sales and rebates.

I actually just saw they came out with the spectrum edition, it's releasing on the 31st. So I'm gonna return mine and buy it.

Was the H100i GTX difficult to fit? I can't figure out for the life of me whether the 380t is supposed to support the H100i or H100i GTX. They're only 3mm off in depth....

I actually just bent the bracket out very slightly. Fit fine after that. It was a little cozy with the mobo before that.

Where did you put the H100i GTX's usb plug, I'm debating getting an ITX computer with the Maximus VIII Impact and the cooler (already purchased) and I'm probably going to have to end up drilling a hole through the case to route a cable. :( Does the fan controller thingy have a port for it?

Didn't use it actually. You only have to plug it in if you want to use corsair link and color profiles.

Hi, first of all, awesome build!

I'm looking to make a similar build in this case, and I'm happy to see that the Asus Strix fits - since I have one of those already.

With the Strix, is it possible to mount a water cooling rack behind the front fans?

The issue that I've seen with that in this case is that most water cooling fittings are top mounted, and I doubt there's clearance above the case.

What kind of keyboard is that?

That's a Logitech G910 Orion Spark, but I replaced with a Corsair K65 in anticipation of the Lapdog coming out

I notice your 3DMark shows your ram as running at 2133Mhz or so. Are you not able to set your ram at the rated speed 3200Mhz using XMP?

I actually was, I hadn't slipped into the bios yet when I ran that benchmark

How'd you fit the H100i cooler in there? I had same setup as you (380T and Impact VIII) but the H100i would push up against the mobo's VRM daughter board.

By bending the bracket the h100i mounts to at the ends. I ended up with around 2mm of clearance.
