Description

Finally, it is here...

After a long while binge watching build videos to get a knowledge for good parts and the construction process, I finally got enough money to make the machine of my dreams.

I built this computer with gaming in mind and shall I say, It's not too shabby at that. While I would have liked to get some of the $5000 Monsters on this site I was only able to save up $3000NZD ($2300USD). This was enough for what I was going to play on it anyway. Borderlands I got for $2 and it runs magnificently. 60 FPS Constant. And of course you're going to say how much better 120 FPS is but those monitors in New Zealand are SOOOO expensive.

It was fun to make, with a little help from a friend (With $4000 Rig and many years experience to boot). Only issues were A little too much Thermal Paste was applied and one of the cables for the Caviar Blue was loose, hence the drive not showing up in startup...

I will keep this build for many years and may have tempted a few of my own friends in building, rather than buying.

Future plans include an I7, if necessary (I use FL Studio a lot now) and a 120 Hz Monitor with Second 970 to boot (They are really cheap now after the 3.5Gb issue :(...)

Overall a worthwhile experience which hopes to continue in the future

As always

Thank you everyone that inspired me for my first time. They are too numerous to list.

Yeah I most likely will get a 144 or 120 Hz monitor in a few years when I get the upgrade.

It really is destroying games at the moment and will hopefully continue it for a few years.

Thanks for the congrats.

Very nice build of yours too, I'm envious of that paint job. But then, there is nothing stopping me getting a custom paint job either, in fact I may do that.

Thanks

Nice job. I have the 4690K/GTX 970 combo, too, and I love it. Chews through everything. And your PSU will set you up well in the future if you do any upgrading.

Your build is very nice too, I was debating getting the NZXT Phantom. Such a nice case

Thanks. I like this case a lot, though I go back and forth between wishing I'd gotten the white one...black one is a smudge magnet.

That is becoming a problem with this case too, but nothing a quick clean doesn't fix...

Playing games that I used to play at: Low, 30 FPS , Now they're at, High/ Ultra, 60 FPS a.

Such a huge improvement

I love it.
