Description

OLD DESCRIPTION my first pc build for myself! FINALLY! I was so bored of upgradin' other's pc while at home I was playin on a intel hd 4000 so I started to look around to find some cash and here it is, not that special but I'm super confortable with it! Great everything, the mobo has some really nice cool features and their XFAST everything works (yes I was preatty unsure about it), my 4670k reaches an overclock of 4.4 easily (incredible for that hyper 212 evo) and the graphic card is a beast of a card (not overclocked yet). I obvoiusly use that ssd as my main drive and I'm really intered in buyin' another one to cache the hard drive. Only one thing scares me, I read about strange noises coming from some xfx 650w psu on the internet and initially I was not going to buy it, then looking at the price and thinking about the rma possibility I bought it... I tested it for days and sometimes it is a bit more noisy because of the fan spinning like a rocket but it's not that frustrating.. so I think that I was lucky with mine :D

* the case has been sold to a friend of mine! now I'm considering on modding my 350d from corsair... we'll see :D *

Matte looks pretty cool on that case.

Looks amazing. NZXT should manufacture a phamtom 410 that comes in matte black considering it looks this good!

OMG, I did the same thing with my case, however I plan to wrap it in carbon fibre vinyl.

you wanna wrap the entire case up? or only the details? put a link in you post the job! I'm super curious!

I was thinking about wrapping both side panels + top and front panels, but now I don't know how hard it will be to make cuts for the mesh and buttons. Maybe I will just do the sides although that might look a little bit weird. (I have to cover the side panel because I messed up the finish when i was cutting a larger window, its a long story)

+1 For the parts, +1 for the aesthetic look of it all, and a fake -1 for making me jealous of its gorgeousness xD.

hahaha thank you man!

how do you do that side panel? and how to paint? can you give me a good tutorial? im noob in modding :|

RiftDM submitter 4 Builds 1 point 50 months ago

well: to cut the side panel I used a dremel and some wood to follow the line of the original small windows, then obviously I cleaned the cut with sandpaper. I used some rubber Uchannel to protect the inner border. The window itself is a triangle shaped piece of plexiglass attached via thick double sided strong tape. to paint the case I used three different cans: for the plastic parts I had to use sandpaper to have a base on which I sprayed to layers of plastic primer and then three layers of paint for plastics. for the metal side panel you don't wanna sand it because the original paint acts as primer so just clean it well and paint with a can for metals. while you paint using cans you don't wanna have points with more paint and some with less 'cause it just looks awful so be careful to have a fluid movement. check bill owen's modding on youtube, there are videos for everything you need ;) hope this was useful and... good luck!

yes as you pointed out this is just a case update, not an entire new build. so the parts are the same as the previous "sexy thing" ;) that SSD it's been my main drive since I started and when I bought it it was half of the price on amazon and actually I've found myself completely satisfied! there's not much difference between the sp900 and the 840 evo however... and the monitor... yeha well... it's just... UBERGORGEOUS! it feel solid on the desk, it looks huge and for the price/panel quality I personally think it's the best I've tried yet.. it's the firts aoc monitor I own and I'm super happy with it!

Just gonna point it out the name of the build includes custom side window and paint. If you compare his case with others he removed the side fan mount and it's a full window and it's a matte black finish.

thank you very much man! tips? well... first of all use duck tape all over the panel when you cut, especially if you don't wanna repaint it, and do little cuts with a dremel, it's easier to go point-to-point instead of trying a single long cut and work the cut out with sand paper just like you can see on youtube's modding videos ;) (check out bill owen's work!!!) and than yes, I've used u-channel and I think it covers any little mistake perfectly soo.... use it ;) if you wanna repaint the case firts of all sand the plastic parts and use a plastic primer before painting them. (if you're painting with a can don't ever spray too close to the panels or plastic or you'll ruin your job!) for the metallic panels you won't need to sand them because the paint sticks to the original one. for the window use tempered glass if you can or a thick panel of plaxiglass and secure it to the panel (after placing the uchannel) with silicon, hot glue or (better) super strong thick tape (like the 3M one) and u're done ;)

now. I. want. to. see. your. work. soon.

have fun!
