Description

The first PC that I've ever built; much easier than I thought it would be :D I chose to go with a Black and White (mostly white) theme because I found black/blue and black/red builds a little too common. My original idea was to have a white and red build, but I could not find a white/red mobo as well as an all white case within my budget (also almost any CPU cooler on the market would look out of place in a build like that unless I painted it myself) . Used for school as well as PUBG, GTA V, Duck Game (guilty pleasure) and Portal 2. The GTX 1060/Ryzen 5 1600 can easily handle those games and school workloads. Since Ryzen is so good at it, I'm thinking of starting content creation.

Part Reviews

CPU

Handles anything really, overclockable, and not ridiculously expensive. What's not to like? Also comes with very decent stock cooler (runs GTA V on ultra/very high at ~54° C).

Motherboard

Unique look, color scheme works perfectly with my parts, and at the $75-90 price point. IO shield is lackluster, but not a problem. Only flaw I can see is the fact that the 2 SATA ports under the USB 3.1 connector were arranged in a way that if you use the L cable it blocks both ports. Didn't cause any issues.

Memory

RAM is RAM. Not the cheapest, but not G.Skill's fault. Simple design goes with the motherboard, so it's fine.

Storage

2TB for $70? Sounds good to me.

Video Card

Great design, cool, and only $250 when I picked it up. Reason I'm only giving four stars is the lack of back plate.

-side note: nice little light to signify the GPU has power.

Case

I'm loving this case. The white painted metal is glossy and smooth. Color scheme is great. very modular and lots of space. it was easy to build in, and I hid my excess cables in the included basement. Cable management was easy breezy as well. I don't mind the lack of tempered glass since it is only 60 bucks.

Power Supply

Does it's job. I didn't realize how much of a pain non-modular power supplies were. I was lucky to have a basement to shove all the useless molex's in. The cables were also much more ketchup/mustard-y than I thought they were (my bad I guess) still, it's cheap, 700W, 80+ Bronze, and EVGA.

Operating System

Windows is Windows.

Monitor

Best size for 1920x1080. 144Hz is buttery smooth.

Monitor

Basic monitor for youtube watching on the side etc.

Keyboard

Decent keyboard for price. the RGB is pretty lackluster, but I'm cheap ;D

Headphones

Fabulous headset. Very comfortable, decent mic. Only problem is that it is wired, but the wire is durable and wrapped in nylon.

I was going to build that exact PC. It's like you're in my head. It looks great but you need white PSU extensions.

Very true. Pretty sure I'm going to need a new mouse before that though, it came free with a $500 pre-built PC off newegg from 2012, and its starting to show it.

How does the B350 Pro4 play with RAM, does your ram run at 3200? If so was it hard to get there? Im creating two parts lists for my friends, both of which who will buy their pcs ocer black friday, one using crucial 2666mghz ram, and one using some ram from gskill or corsair thats 3200 or 3000.

I had no problems. Yes, my RAM is running at 3200 MHz: ASRock has it labeled under XMP. At first it was on a lower frequency, but a few clicks set it to 3200. Since then (the first time I booted the PC successfully) I haven't touched it and the Ryzen Master software reports that it is indeed running at 3200 with no problems.
