Description

Just built this machine - first gaming desktop - and first time building a computer.

Reused the video card from my previous desktop, and the hard drive from an old external drive. Still debating on whether or not a solid state drive is worth the money - and if it is, how big to go..

Any advice on my next upgrade is appreciated :)

I am looking to put this gpu back in my old desktop, and buy a new one for this machine - just haven't decided whether or not I want to go with 2 monitors or not yet.

You're not doing your CPU any favors there with the air flow with all those wires just piled up like that. Get some zip ties, get them tied back out of the way. First suggestion.

Wrong, GPU. In your picture it is a XFX. But you put on the parts down an ASUS

A SSD will make a huge difference in your loading times for the OS and for your games. I would suggest putting the OS and your games on the SSD then put movies and or music on the Seagate 1.5TB.

Yeah, you're right -- its the XFX Radeon 7770 series 1 GB, not the 2GB Asus card.

I did take the suggestion and put a 240GB SSD in there -- great tip. Fires up in a flash.

I am looking to swap out the card (finally) - a buddy of mine recommended the GTX 960 4GB version, EVGA's SC Model is pretty small and should fit in the case (fits in his, and we've got similar builds). Just curious if anybody had any suggestion on that before I pull the trigger on it..
