Description

I'll be using this as a work-from-home desktop used occasionally for more heavy-duty tasks like ripping movies from DVD to MP4, encoding/editing video, running VirtualBox VMs, running Logos Bible Software. I don't really game at all, so I skipped a dedicated GPU for now. If I get to the point where I'm needing more processing power later, I figure I can always add one in at that point.

I'd like to thank the good folks at reddit/bapccanada and here on the PCPartPicker forums for all their helpful advice throughout this project.

As well, I'd like to thank my brother who donated the case and chipped in (with my mom) on the cost of my MOBO as a birthday gift. Lastly, I'd like to thank my friend David for his help when I got stuck a couple times with this.

If anyone has any comments or advice on my setup, please share in the comments!

Edit May 26, 2016: Added some photos of my desk and the tower itself. No, my desk isn't usually this clean!

Edit Nov 10, 2018: Finally added a GPU, a MSI 1050 Ti. So glad I did. Uploaded one new pic with update.
