Description

Decided to show off the improvements I have made to my previous PC setup. After adding these new improvements, my setup got a whole new breath of life!

This was my first PC build (although I do have a decent amount of experience with PC hardware). It took 3 months of careful planning and as a result, the build process was extremely smooth. The build took about 1 hour for main assembly and another 3 hours for cable management. The theme of this build was obviously the infamous "Red and Black" which I have a liking to (and for some reason people like to criticize red and black builds just because they are common! The ample supply of red parts is an advantage in my opinion since I didn't need to settle on any color specific parts). To give my PC a bit of extra "WOW" I used the NZXT Hue+ which really changes the whole personality of the PC. In the end, I am very satisfied with the build and the way it looks and sounds(QUIET)! The community has treated me extremely well and helped me with so many different aspects of my build, and for that I say thank you.

Software I use:

*Speedfan - to create fan curves based on CPU and GPU temperatures.

*MSI AFTERBURNER - to give some nice overclocks to my gtx 1080

*CAM - nice looking PC monitoring

A short list of why I purchased certain products:

*i7 6700k - Intel is the way to go in my opinion and this processor has fantastic performance and great reliability

*H105 - Decent cooling and very stylish! lol. Super easy to install and does its job very well. Only problem I had is that if you screwed the fans on too tight the screws would hit the fins a bit (good thing I new about this before building!)

*MSI M7- Very solid board with nice looking heatsinks and I/O cover + I/O Shield. Many great on board features and very easy to use BIOS (BIOS update and setup was really fast and intuitive)

*32GB Ripjaws V - I wanted a good amount of RAM for servers I host and some RAM hungry software. Didn't need anything particularly fast.

*Kingston SSDNow - Simple Drive to store OS and other important programs.

*WD 1TB Caviar Blue - Trusted and well-performing drive to hold all my other programs and games.

*MSI GeForce GTX 1080 8GB GAMING X - So I can play Crysis at above 25FPS... Fantastic performance across any game I throw at it and super easy install. The card is a bit heavy even with the reinforced PCI-E slots.

*H440 - Great case and easy to manage cables in. Looks really clean as well.

*RM750x - Fully modular and Gold certified. Does its job and stays quiet.

*Corsair AF140 - Exhaust on rear of case.

*Corsair SP120 - For Radiator and top exhaust. (I used the 3 front stock fans)

*Noctua NF-S12A -I use three of these for intake. They are quiet and push quite a lot of air!

Others: *Hue+ - Gave my PC awesome lighting

*Windows 10 - OS of preference

*Silverstone sleeved extensions - look nicer than stock PSU cables

*Logitech G633 - Great sound, RGB, and non-wireless (Which i prefer)

*Sades Headset stand - simple and looks nice

*Reflex Lab Extended mouse pad - looks nice and is very functional

*Blackwidow CHROMA - Nice keyboard that games and types well.

*Deathadder CHROMA - Super comfortable and super smooth

*Orico Surge protector - Nice size, weight, and protection

*Belkin Surge protector - Nice size, weight, and protection

*Linmon Desk - Perfectly good size for my setup

*Sceptre Monitor - Old monitor that now serves as second display

*ASUS VG248 - Great 144hz monitor with awesome colors! The base is also very nice despite the gloss finish.

This build had no Problems whatsoever! Great for any beginner! Thanks for taking time to read my little breakdown!

Part Reviews

CPU

Works just as I had anticipated! Overclocks are quite decent as well.

CPU Cooler

Does a great job at keeping the CPU cool. Only uses one motherboard which is pretty convenient. Only problem I had is that radiator fans were a tad too long when I used the corsair sp-120 fans.

Case

Good case, but gives too little room to cable manage in my opinion. Also, the airflow could have been better.

Case Fan

These fans keep my PC cool while also being reasonably quiet.

Case Accessory

Gives a whole new life to my PC.

Monitor

Great looking monitor with an easy to use menu. 144hz has officially blown my mind.

Monitor

Great for a budget build. Lasted me about 2 years of everyday use already!

Keyboard

Comfy and clicky. I like.

Mouse

Wraps around my hands rather well

Headphones

Good weight. Awesome controls. Great Mic. Looks amazing

Externally, I have a magpul foregrip, sight riser for my mask, and an ncstar red dot. I run an 11.1 lipo inside.
