Description

This is my first build, and thanks to all of you on pcpartpicker, I was able to learn a lot and build a computer of my dreams. I am not a huge gamer, its because of that why I do not have an over the top GPU. This computer is mostly going to be used for music recording and production. There are more components that I would like to add, however I was so excited that I finally had a completed build, I felt that I had to post this. I would love to know what all of you guys think. Thanks.

Did you take the gpu from an old build? If not you should have bought a 7850 for 5 bucks more.

Yeah it was. A friend of mine sold it to me for 20 bucks, so I couldn't refuse.

Ok then yes that's a great deal, are you going to get a different gpu later on though? And if you are which one.

Deal! This also shows the importance of why you should fill in your purchase prices to make this clearer.

I'm sure that I'll want to upgrade sooner than later. I was looking at this one before http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-video-card-02gp42662kr

Looks like a great build. All your parts are great and the build itself is very balanced. Great choice of case. The only thing I would have done differently is I would have bought a Samsung 840 SSD just because I trust them so much, but OCZ does hold some trust in my mind. +1

That power supply is becoming really popular from all the builds I've been seeing lately.

It's a seasonic. They make a fantastic PSU.

I know, I used the same one in my last build and a re-branded XFX in the one previous to that. They've been great in my experience thus far.

SeaSonic and Corsair are the PSUs to have. I hear NZXT makes a pretty nice PSU as well, but I'd probably only ever buy one to complete an NZXT themed build (ie case, fans, cooler, psu, etc).

Some other smaller companies makes good PSU aswell. but If you're in doubt get Corsair/Seasonic. Then you're sure that they ain't **** pretty much.

How is the CPU? Is it getting hot at all?

The cpu seems to be fine right now. I havent had the chance to do a stress test on it, but when I do I'll let everyone know.

You should have fixed your closet door before spending time building a computer :P

How's that motherboard working out for you? Thinking of getting the same one for my build.

The mobo is working pretty much as I hope. It pretty much had all the features that I was looking for. The z87-pro had way more than I needed.

How you liking that case? I plan on getting it soon.

The case is amazing. It is huge though! I had never seen a full tower atx before I got this one so I was pretty shocked at how big it was. But the case is really awesome, and pictures dont do it justice. Wait till you see it in person.

What software are you using as your DAW?

Right now I have studio one, but I'm hoping to get a copy of cubase from one of my buddies in the next few weeks.

What type of music do you produce?

Mainly I just do small stuff. Some acoustic recordings of myself and what not. I would really like to get some bands that would want to be recorded but I still need a few things before I start all that.

How was it installing the cooler? Were there any compatibility problems?

No there weren't really any issues installing the cooler.
