Description

As was stated in my first iteration of this build: (Monolith)

I plan to use this mostly for gaming and media streaming as well as some audio design work. Overkill rig but part of the project was just the enjoyment of building a crazy powerful PC because I can.

I had zero problems building this first time PC. Did my research ahead of time by visiting the buildapc subreddit, toms hardware forums, pcpartpicker and youtube. Computer booted on first try flawlessly and has been behaving ever since. Love it!

Since the first version of this build I have added internal hard drives, moved drive cages around to better facilitate smooth air flow and swapped in an MSI GTX 980 Ti Gaming video card. The build pictures shown here are from the initial build. I've added a couple pictures since then to show the drive restructuring and video card update. The last 2 pictures are what it currently looks like inside the case.

To be clear, since it looks like there's confusion about the pictures versus the parts list (and rightfully so) let me try to clarify. I wanted to include the pictures from the first "version" of my build because some people really enjoy getting a peak at the step by step building of a computer. In this case those pictures still have the old video card (GTX 970), less storage and a different drive cage configuration. The last 2 pictures, however, are the up-to-date, current set up with the 980 Ti. I realize not everyone reads the descriptions accompanying these builds on pcpartpicker so I'll just state it here as well.

Nice build mate! The guts look a lot cleaner without all those hard drive cages in the way.

Yea very similar looking indeed. Nice.

As for window case installation I'm not 100% sure I understand what you mean. Do you mean is it hard to build a computer within the confines of this windowed case or do you literally mean is it hard to put the windowed door on? In either case, though, no I didn't really have any issues. The overall process was pretty painless. The only time I had issues was when I moved internal hard drives around and/or added more later on. I found I sometimes needed smaller hands to get to the power plugs and cables between the motherboard and the drives. Harder when everything is already installed and bolted down.

It's a lot easier if you lay it on it's side when you do the window side I found
