Description

For gaming and live streaming! Built in June 2013.

Added the white LEDs a while after but it was the last touch this build needed! :D

The Fractal Design Define R4 is such a great case. If only the power LED were blue on the white version too! The case combined with the Dark Rock Pro 2 makes for a very, very quiet computer. It's inaudible until the graphics card fan goes above 70%.

Got the 4670K to 4.3 GHz stable.

Oh, and Windows 8 with Classic Shell is awesome, and I like it better than Windows 7.

Why are my pictures in reverse order?

Cpu cooler is a monster, good job on the build; very balanced.

Nice, I like it! I could be biased though because we have a very similar build. ;) I agree about windows 8, I also prefer it to windows 7 it is awesome.

was a 550 watt psu enough? The people down at nvidia told me that a gtx 770 requires a 600 watt! LOL

Of course it's enough! They say that to cover their butts in case you get a crappy power supply that doesn't put out the power it's supposed to. This build could probably even do with a good 450W unit but the 550W Seasonic G had everything I wanted, like modular design, Haswell ready, and it's even rated 80+ Gold. Also with a 550W I won't get funny looks from people vs a lower wattage unit.

What do you think of the cpu cooler? I'm still debating if i should get the Dark rock 2 pro, dark rock 2 or maybe i should just get the hyper 212. Really like the look of the dark rock cooler tho.

That depends on how much you want to spend and how much you care about temperatures and sound. I'd recommend a Dark Rock 2/pro cooler over a 212 Evo any day.

Dark Rock 2 Pro version performs like a Noctua NH-D14, which is why I picked the Pro specifically.

How did your cooler fit with the R4? I'm planning on getting the R4 with this cooler so it would be good to know how it fits.

As you can see it fits without issues!

Would you recommend low profile RAM with the cooler? Thanks!

Oh yeah, defintely. You should be getting low profile RAM with any big cooler like this.

The monitor's great! There's only a tiny bit of backlight bleed and it's not even noticeable. Glad I took the plunge on it.
