Description

My monster build which I started working on since October but have been researching it since last Summer. There is a build log on forums.overclockers.co.uk called Ramthor's Monster Build where you can see a lot of pictures from the making of for anyone interested. Performance wise currently it is on the 10th place on 3DMark Hall of Fame for 2 GPUs but initially was on the 9th place. (screenshot provided). I'll come back later with details if needed.

Thank you all for you appreciation! It is a dream come true for me and I hold it even more dear as I've built it myself. My background has nothing to do with PC building but I've put all my energy into building this and I'm happy with the result. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and may all your dreams come true!

Mr_Majestic 14 points 28 months ago

I need new underwear

TioJorge 6 Builds 6 points 28 months ago

Stuff like this just amazes me. I was overly cautious and nervous when installing my AIO cooler. Doing this would have me sweating bullets and they'd find me keeled over from a heart attack and there'd just be the CPU block installed and nothing else done.

Bravo, you crazy builder.

ramthor submitter 1 Build 6 points 28 months ago

The most nerve wracking was modifying the Titans for water cooling and knowing I was messing with £2,200 and a lost warranty. I've never been more concentrated in my entire life! lol

jaka2015 2 Builds 3 points 28 months ago

Dude holy crap. Those EKWB Titans look perfect

NickDVL 1 Build 5 points 28 months ago

Stunning build, waaay beyond even my budget. +1 The 3D Hall of Fame looks suspicious with that dual 980Ti at the top, mind you...

xxswindlexx 1 point 28 months ago

wtb driver updates NVIDIA!!!!

AuraNightheart 4 points 28 months ago

Absolutely beautiful and amazing.

Any chance you've got a second one laying around and ready to ship? :P

ramthor submitter 1 Build 4 points 28 months ago

Thank you!

I might as long as you have 10 grands burning a hole in your pocket... :)

ramthor submitter 1 Build 2 points 28 months ago

Cooled almost entirely with EKWB stuff. Sponsorship anyone? Lol

auldae 1 Build 3 points 28 months ago

Simply amazing ...

Someone actually bought that special edition RAM. +1

Haze811 2 Builds 1 point 25 months ago

Dude, you have no idea. If you have a passion for sexy ram and 329.99 burning a hole in your wallet, well, I own set 384 of the RAM. What set is yours ramthor?

TideV2 3 points 28 months ago

can you say OVERKILL... but can it run MINECRAFT

Coolman6564 1 point 27 months ago

Forget Minecraft, will it run Excel AND Word AND Powerpoint (and not just any Powerpoint presentation, one with graphics!) simultaneously??? That's the REAL benchmark.

Shoot_to_kill21024 3 points 27 months ago

But can it run Minesweeper at full FPS

jedi5200 3 points 28 months ago

FANS

Tooth 1 Build 3 points 28 months ago

Bunch of poor haters here too.

Ramthor, I am pretty sure you can ignore these comments from a few. Something they will never have the opportunity to want or have and they respond in the negative way they do.

I always say, it is your money, spend it as you please. Yours was on a monster system, congrats :)

Now, are you going to settle for just #9 position?? What would you do differently to run another higher score??

SirMints 3 Builds 2 points 28 months ago

Holy Cow. Ok, that's pretty!

rhali8 2 Builds 2 points 28 months ago

:O

Gooberdad 10 Builds 2 points 28 months ago

Good gracious. This is aptly named and very pretty. Love the two separate coolers. Thats a ton of power.

Great job and INCOMING FEATURED SPOTLIGHT!

Thumbs up.

Gooberdad 10 Builds 1 point 28 months ago

dammit gotta post on another line.

squats 2 points 28 months ago

Damn thats amazing! But why are there no rubber grommets on this case?

ramthor submitter 1 Build 1 point 28 months ago

Because Caselabs

Solemnsong 2 points 28 months ago

That is a monster, double titan overkill!! Lol and awesome custom cooling

Partha 2 points 28 months ago

:O Absolute monster..

ramthor submitter 1 Build 1 point 28 months ago

...then whispers: "Thank you fallen kingdom for the weak pound. You didn't make my birth more expensive than it should have been at all!"

Blacksm1le 1 Build 2 points 28 months ago

jbombola 2 points 28 months ago

May I ask which kit # your RAM is :D ? Just wondering lel.

Gooberdad 10 Builds 2 points 28 months ago

And now congrats on the featured spotlight. Great job.

Wolklung 2 points 28 months ago

Thanks for sharing. I just love what you've done here and being able to see all this gear in action.

SmartWolf 2 points 28 months ago

If you have the money then enjoy it! Very nicely done. I really like the two independent water loops.

The rest of us will just have to slum it with the 1 average gpu and a single aio :)

Popopopper 1 Build 2 points 28 months ago

That is the most beautiful PC I've ever seen :') SLI'd Titan X's is not something I thought I would ever see.

Just one thing, I would swap out some of the red fans for blue, to match the different water cooler tubes.

adaverso 1 Build 2 points 28 months ago

Make your 3rd image your header image. Also this is awesome. My build is almost complete and wanted to jump up to the 6950X but I stayed with the 6800k. and 1 Titan :D but watercooling FTW this is sweet. Bunch of poor haters here too.

ramthor submitter 1 Build 1 point 28 months ago

Done :)

TheotherguyYT 1 Build 2 points 27 months ago

Lol thet sad moment when this guy has a PC with more Vram than you have Ram and Vram in general...

stevesilver925 2 points 24 months ago

When I saw that the top end of the price filter for the completed builds was well over £10,000, I had to see what madness occurred at this price bracket. Particularly since ordering all the parts for a new build only a few hours ago for near £1600. Every purchase hurt a little more than the last. Not sure I was expecting to see such a work of art. You have built one beautiful monster on a budget most can only dream of. It's so gorgeous, I'm surprised you'd ever look at the screen. Bravo!

b-juice 1 Build 2 points 24 months ago

its the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.

DylanJoel 1 point 28 months ago

Could you post some benchmarks please?

nilsonstine 1 point 28 months ago

one question: 2 titan x's but a 1440p 100hz monitor. Pretty sure you could pull off 4k with this beast XD

ramthor submitter 1 Build 2 points 28 months ago

Because I quite like Ultra Wide resolution and also high frame rates will lots of eye candy enabled. My plan from the beginning was to pull at least 100 FPS average on the games I'm interested in so I can justify the monitor's refresh rate.

[comment deleted by staff]
ramthor submitter 1 Build 1 point 28 months ago

If you mean ACER Predator x34 it's 100Hz and has the same panel as Asus PG348Q

Shishi 3 Builds 1 point 28 months ago

Lyrix 1 point 28 months ago

This is amazing! wow! 1+! It looks very very good nothing to critique

giovibassi 1 point 28 months ago

bruh, can u run like 6k on it lol

TechyinAZ 14 Builds 1 point 28 months ago

Yeah, he can with dual titan Xes. He could even do 8k with a 4k monitor + DSR.

FreeWayPineapple 1 Build 2 points 28 months ago

He probably likes the higher refresh rate.

adaverso 1 Build 1 point 28 months ago

I suppose sooo, yaaa

ramthor submitter 1 Build 1 point 28 months ago

TheRafizzz1 1 Build 1 point 28 months ago

I'm not too sure about the color scheme MF!!! That's just my opinion

sully15 1 point 28 months ago

Looks a lot like Jayztwocents' Skunkworks PC.

abattlescar 1 point 28 months ago

Gotta love that the top guy for dual-GPU has 980 TIs, I'd like to see how that happened.

essa.ea 1 point 28 months ago

Amazing build indeed , but im not sure what are you gonna do with this monster ?

dragoon20005 4 Builds 1 point 28 months ago

This build scream TinyTomLogan seal of Approval

https://i.imgur.com/kkgKhYc.png?1

because it features all thing Asus products

and yes there is a JaysTwoCent vibe in the build as well

except his has GTX1080 vs your Titan XPs

I am still scratching my head as why the top spot is a 980Ti config???

GodlyPride 1 point 28 months ago

Can this run Minecraft?

Gentleman00 2 Builds 1 point 28 months ago

Holy f**k :O Congrats on Featured !

Thecautiousone 10 Builds 1 point 28 months ago

All Hail the SMA8.

Good Stuff!

ramthor submitter 1 Build 1 point 28 months ago

Very happy with the case indeed Highly recommended

shottycall 7 Builds 1 point 28 months ago

That color combo is amazing

elucidate 1 point 28 months ago

Amazing build. However, you really should get a bigger desk. That tower looks out of place on top of that small thing.

ramthor submitter 1 Build 1 point 28 months ago

It's a 160x160cm desk I ordered specifically for this build. It's the case and monitor that are huge making it look small. I still have plenty of space left but I do wish I'd have ordered the 180x180 version.

BernardSk 1 point 28 months ago

Why did you buy the Oculus Rift instead of the HTC Vive?

ramthor submitter 1 Build 1 point 28 months ago

According to my research they are both about the same performance wise so it comes down to personal preference in choosing one over the other. In my case was the fact that Oculus is easier to set-up, lighter, better optimization for the games I'm interested in, available on Amazon with next day delivery, cheaper without controllers (but I ended up buying them anyway).

dragoon20005 4 Builds 1 point 28 months ago

you made a good move

I heard the HTC Vive 2 might be coming real soon

they are launching it in CES next month

BernardSk 1 point 28 months ago

...but the games are much worse and the business practices of Oculus can only be called disgusting.

Wildmind 2 Builds 1 point 28 months ago

Amazing beast. Maybe time to spend a few bucks into the desktop setup & cable management? You won't believe how important putting your machine into a virtual pedestal is. Large desk, led backlight, all cables hidden, and you'll enjoy sitting at your desk so much you'll even sleep there :D

dfour802 1 point 28 months ago

Why these parts? What do you use this system for? How the hell do you afford all that? Not saying this is bad just curious.

ramthor submitter 1 Build 1 point 28 months ago

No handouts were used in making this product. :) Only my hard-earned money. Work hard, play hard!

DarkMonkey115 1 point 28 months ago

My **** got hard just looking at this.

Piffi 1 point 28 months ago

Love to see the Special Edition RAM! :)

H3RO 1 point 28 months ago

You should enter PC Wars on a youtube channel called TechSource. You could definitely win the $100 I think he gives to the winner.

AlexBs_15 1 point 28 months ago

Very nice pc I would like to have it please make a video about that

SuperGuyDoesGames 1 point 27 months ago

My only question is how the guy with the i7-5960X and 2x GTX 980 Ti's get first place in the hall of fame.

Other thing was why did you use a 950 Pro instead of a 960 Pro or an Intel 750?

Other than that +1 for overpriced monster of a build that I would love to have on my desk.

joelikespcs 1 Build 1 point 27 months ago

if the radiator leaked...

Skullbreaker-q8 1 point 27 months ago

YOU SHOULD SUBMIT THIS TO TECHSOURCE ON YOUTUBE!!!!

MicroscopyGuy 1 point 27 months ago

Thinking about getting the 6950x.It says its only compatible with 2400mhz ram, am I missing something?

Coolman6564 1 point 27 months ago

Like the vision in my head for my own machine was made in real life. Congratulations on this. I mean, really, just wow.

Epicmati313 1 point 27 months ago

at this point get a 4k monitor

longarms 1 point 27 months ago

This looks like something from a sci-fi movie.

Gunvir103 1 point 27 months ago

Nice Job. Question: How long did it take

dannyoneone 1 point 27 months ago

This reminds me of skunk works :>

Thunderwalker777 1 point 26 months ago

Do you even budget bro?

Phoenix2012 1 point 26 months ago

Almost identical specs to mine except I have a 960 pro different Ram and water block on the motherboard

Jurunce_the_Mod_Guy 1 Build 1 point 26 months ago

Thumbs up.

Also I have a question too. Would a 60mm thick rad fit into the basement with 5.25" devices installed there as well? As I can see here, you clearly managed to squeeze in a 560mm x 56mm thick rad down there.

MuchLinux6500 2 Builds 1 point 25 months ago

Ha Ha, Great Build.

But where did you get all that money from xD

CrimzonSlayeRx 1 point 23 months ago

come on bro, couldve gone a little low on the PC itself and furnished the surrounding.

CrimzonSlayeRx 1 point 23 months ago

if my college tuition was a PC

Irnman2 1 point 23 months ago

nice

DavidTheNewGuy 1 point 22 months ago

You're a psychopath, but I would love to play on it and have a lot of respect for this badass build and you

The_64-Bit-Kid 1 Build 1 point 22 months ago

My jaw is open, what a crazy build. i can only afford a $1000 PC. That is one incredible PC. No words can describe how godly that PC is.

westwandaguys 1 point 21 months ago

Great build. I am planning on making something similar with two loops in a SMA8. I have one question: did you purchase two radiator mounting brackets from Caselabs? It looks like that might be the case, I just want to make sure.

PC_Noob12345572725 1 point 21 months ago

I bet it bottlenecks lol

Michael_Kaine 1 Build 1 point 17 months ago

Wow this is almost as sexy as my old SMA8 Build... Nice!

TheOneThatFlies 1 point 12 months ago

Just your CPU is worth 3x more than my entire soon-to-be build, that says something

pokemon1141 1 point 8 months ago

That is very, very nice.

What fps do you get on games?

Ademske 1 point 6 months ago

Forget gaming, I would happily spend hours just watching this monster run

ollycoote 1 Build 1 point 5 months ago

epic.

Wi1dCard2210 1 Build 0 points 28 months ago

all I have to say is that the blue feels out of place; none of the sleeved cables nor fans have blue in them so it doesn't seem to fit in well. Otherwise very cool!

DeltaForceGM01 0 points 28 months ago

I think you forgot to watercool ur ram, motherboard and you drives

GentlemanShark 1 Build 0 points 28 months ago

Only thing to complain about is that keyboard.

paskowitz 1 Build 0 points 28 months ago

A mobo waterblock may be ?

PigWithAMustache 2 Builds 2 points 28 months ago

or an ssd waterblock

joelhowell 2 points 28 months ago

Practically pointless

PigWithAMustache 2 Builds 3 points 28 months ago

But it would be funny

joelhowell 1 point 28 months ago

Indeed!

MaxxBot 1 point 28 months ago

Actually specifically with the 950 Pro it wouldnt be pointless as that SSD can thermal throttle. Sticking a heatsink on it would work as well.

OwlieBahweyes -1 points 28 months ago

AFAIK SSD water blocks would help with consistency of SSD clock rates, correct? Isn't that currently one of the limiting factors on some NVME SSD's in combination with cases or motherboards (like the ASUS Maximus VIII's heat shield). I feel like the difference would be negligible in terms of ineligible differences but you could certainly see the stability in synthetic benchmarks. Once Im home I'll find a link to the article or video or whatever that I had seen a little while ago that I got all this info from.

MaxxBot 1 point 28 months ago

Yeah specifically with the 950 Pro it can help because it can throttle under heavy sustained use, it depends on the specific SSD. For the 960 series they improved the thermal performance so that this isn't as much of an issue.

joelhowell 2 points 28 months ago

Not necessary though

BananaJunkie 1 point 28 months ago

Subjectively, none of this is particularly necessary. But it's possible, EKWB made a block for this mobo, so why not? :D

joelhowell 1 point 28 months ago

Very true. I know it's possible XD overkill but I mean I think we could all use a bit more overkill in our PCs

ramthor submitter 1 Build 1 point 28 months ago

That block was not available at the time when I started ordering components. I did consider a full mb block but that meant taking out some of the shielding of the MB and its pretty lights.
