My build, starting from my desperate build, I'll be upgrading throughout the year as a full time uni student.

Note: the $0 means that I salvaged from my pre built computer. The monitor and peripherals ended up as a gift. The speakers I found at a garage sale.

2015-2016 transition:

-added peripherals

-added new monitor

-new case

-new gpu

-new psu

-extra hdd

-new ssd - boot drive

-new LED fans

-new cooler

-new RAM

2016 upgrade plan:

-i7-4790k with mobo---skylake cpu with that RGB asus mobo if ballin hard with $$

-1200+w psu (After this, a psu upgrade should not be needed anymore)

Side 2016 plan:

-make a ~6TB NAS

-also will be upgraded in probably every other year.

2015 notes:

I've added around $500 worth of parts since my desperate build. Income is hard but I can manage. I'm very satisfied with the new Noctis 450 case. Cable management have never been so easy; just shoved everything in the shroud. My current gripe about my build is the very limited mobo. Can't do anything extra on it. I was planning on switching to an AMD based cpu but decided to save up.

2015 changes:

-went to the ncix warehouse sale during the summer and got my 290 for $300. gave my 260x and psu to a friend for $90.

-got a 750w PSU, It should be enough to power my 290 and budget was limited at the time.

-during the summer, 1TB was NOT enough for me so I got another one. After the extra hdd for steam games, I'm already almost full, so I decided to make a NAS sometime soon.

-the SSD was the much needed purchase. It is my boot drive and it has the corsair and razer startup applications.

-case change, I was alright to keep my z12 plus but it is not very versatile. Ex. not enough space for a radiator. I ended up selling my case in kijiji for $35.

Thanks! I'm starting to see it struggling on the most recent AAA games but most of the time, it keeps up well.
