First build. Much needed upgrade from a 8 year old ASUS ROG laptop. Mostly used for gaming.
Build went extremely well. No problems.
Can I know the model number or the name of your previous Asus ROG laptop?
BTW the build is great +1
It is a G74SX. Guess only 8 years old. Corrected description. Seemed longer ago!
I never thought meshify c with rgb exhaust fans would look this great , great build !
I know the cpu only supports up to or close to 2933 ram and is it when you use 3000 ram can you only push ram to cpu supported speed
Before you got stability issues
AMD recommends 2933 but I haven't had any stability issues at 3200.
Im doing a build coming late or mid 2019 with a ryzen 5 2600 with g skill trident 3000mhrz
And a gtx 1660 ti
Sounds like a solid build. If building mid or late 2019 maybe take a look at the R3 3300(x) or R5 3600(x) when they come out. Should be similar in price with better performance.
Nah I'll stick with the r5
I might down the line upgrade to a 8core with water cooler but for it's fine
And with a liquid cooler do you need thermal paste
Yes, with the most AIO's thermal paste is included. I would suggest air cooling btw... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23vjWtUpItk
Killer build! I'm using the same case and wondering if the GPU and CPU Aio cooler have good clearance? Does the CPU keep cool with the 240. Why did you chose to mount top Vs front. Kind regards Tom
Thank you! Yes, I have good clearance with the Gaming Z. Though with the AIO cooler being 280mm it only fits in the front of the case so it does limit GPU options (cards get too long).
If I were to change one thing it'd be to go with the 240mm AIO cooler and mount top of case so more options available for GPU.
And yes the AIO cooler keeps my CPU quite cool. Never above 65°C and that's with it OC'd to 4.2 GHz.
