First build ever, took me forever to assemble but everything worked on the first try so I'm very proud! Used to have my surface pro 4 plugged through HDMI to a 720 tv all the time, I don't watch cable and my entertainment comes from internet videos, youtube, Netflix etc.. or console gaming girlfriend needed a PC since hers got stolen and I was looking to by a surface for her and while searching for a used one, noticed i had some money to spare and it hit me... its time!
Like I said, it was my first build and I was waiting for Black Friday so in the meantime did tons of research as my knowledge about PC hardware was lacking a lot, everything I bought usually where laptops! and commercial PCs, the initial budget was supposed to be around $1,600 max for the PC.. BUT.. the more research .. the more sales I saw... the greedier I got and I'm sure many understand... I blame psychology and my damn brain. 30 bucks for a ssd with double the storage? Meh 1,530 won't hurt.. Then 40 extra for tempered glass.. Hmm spending that much I should go for a decent case.. Beside 1,570 is no big deal.. 3 hours later.. Well.. If. I'm spending 2,600 on a ultra pc.. It deserves a decent monitor.. Otherwise it's a waste of hardware if it can't show it.. 1,300 monitor? Ahh f**** it.. Then comes the heavy existential reasoning.. I deserve to enjoy life.. I could die in a month.. You live only once.. Etc.. Lol
Everything was bought during Black Friday week so the price here is not accurate, it does help a lot to be patient and wait it out for Black Friday deals especially since its a new build and small savings on every part ( $20 here.. $50 there etc..) added up and after comparing the total now vs what I actually paid, I saved between sales and amazon prime free shipping about $700.
The jump from console to PC is truly amazing, although the jump from 720 to 2k 3440x1440 120fps also helps LOL. The monitor is spectacular! And while looking for some speakers got Bose Soundtouch 300 sound bar for Christmas and the sound is badass!
So far I'm very happy, very proud.. all worth it and learning more and more every day!
***About the desk LOL: I'm on the lookout for one but it wasn't a priority until the soundbar showed up... but ill probably get one soon, the thing is if I start my medical residency and have to move then it will be a pain to move the desk and everything. Like I said. It was supposed to be a$1,500 build.. Never expected to end up with ultra wide monitor and a meter long soundbar!
Works as intended, don't plan to overclock or anything so i got the non K version, plus I'm no programmer or heavy software user. Its enough for my gaming needs and Internet entertainment.
Keeps CPU pretty cool on stress it barely made it to 78C, so it does its job! Easy to install!
Has everything I need, supports all my hardware and no issues whatsoever!
Its RAM, its pretty fast for my needs, its cool looking and works with ASUS Aura!
My main SSD, Desktop, up and running in seconds! Fast though not cheap!
The second SSD for my gaming needs, here are all the Steam games installed, decent space, very fast, never had an issue, games work perfectly!
Backup HHD, just for data, pictures and all the good stuff that doesnt need super fast access, still pretty fast, cheap and great space!
A beast, run my games on my 3440x1440 21:9 G-Sync Alienware monitor at 120FPS on ultra settings, flawlessly!
My first build was in this case.. super easy to install everything. If only it had USB 3.1 or thunderbolts up front!
Super quiet fans!
The case looks badass!
Had an issue with the tempered glass bursting in my hand " spontaneous glass breakage" Amazon just sent me a replacement case!
It works, power to spare and easy to use!
well.. its windows soo.. not much to say!
This is just spectacular! Had my concerns with Ultrawide screens vs going for 4k Tv. But wanted to take advantage of those 120hz and Gsync so went for it... no regrets, everyone that lays eyes on it loves it!
Got lucky i assume as backlight bleed is very minimal on the corners. Overclocked in a few easy button presses and my games on Ultra at 120FPS without a single Hiccup!
the issue? price! really pissed me off that other monitors with similar specs are way cheaper just cause they have AMD Freesync...
Always used the chiclet-style keyboards from the surface and was hesitant to go with these mechanical ones... again, no regret.
love the look, works great, love the RBG customization and the many M keys and volume wheel etc.. it has everything I wanted!
Wireless and fast response .. all I wanted but of course had to pay for it!
very comfortable, added all side buttons and customized them for my needs! Love it!
Hear every footstep, comfortable, although the earmuff does feel weird after an extended period of use! The sound is great and nice bass!
Have to protect my hardware! Hardware safe!
They work... phanteks mentions its ASUS aura sync compatible and bla bla.. but didnt include the RGB adapter for the MOBO..???
the tape sucks!
why wasn't this included in my "ASUS aura compatible strip or case?
after installing it, if I choose a different color than the MOBO RGBs or lower the brightness/intensity .. something starts making coil whine.. so uninstalled it, left it with the case since the actual blue color that I use its the same as the rest of the parts.
From my PS4, they work on steam without issue!
Feels good.. big enough and looks good!
Just what I needed to complement the beautiful screen and flawless graphics... some damn fine audio!
