This is my first attempt at building a computer. I thought it would be easier to get what I wanted. The entire process wasn't too bad. I did a lot of reading on a couple websites about the process and the different parts. Overall I was just looking for a gaming pc that was under $900 and that could play the couple games I play on high settings. My old computer was a 6 year old HP that I had to play WOW on the lowest settings possible. Parts wise, I was just looking for bang for my buck. Good quality parts that would be compatible and leave room if I wanted to expand later.

Just a couple notes, I originally ordered a Gigabyte R9 270x video card from Newegg but it was defective out of the box. I had all of the parts and didn't want to wait to have another one shipped so I bought the best card they had at Best Buy for under $200. Probably overpaid a bit for the convenience but I'm pretty happy with the performance. I also bought the 600w power supply because it ended up being cheaper than the 430w with the promo.

I did consider a SSD but I already have a 1tb external hard drive and thought that might be a bit of overkill.

The tower was very easy to work with and had more than enough space. I didn't buy any extra cooling because the tower I chose had two fans built in. Overall I am very pleased with how it turned out.
