Description

While building my own pc this weekend i done another for a friend, similar spec different colour scheme. The Fractal Design R5 is another really nice case like the NZXT H440 its just a shame it doesnt have a shroud for the power supply. The pc is almost completely silent apart from some coil whine from the graphics card but hopefully that clears up with some use.

Both pcs posted no problems, while doing the wiring in the case i switched the ram to different dimms. Fitting the CPU cooler was a ***** i found this one much harder to install than the h100i

Looks nice, love the cable management except that the GPU cables. I think it looks cleaner if they are under the GPU. Nice build though. Keep it up

Love the R5, I use it myself!

Quiet even with the fans on high, and with a GFX card that has dynamic fans.. silent with low to normal load!

Is a 550 watts PSU completely fine with that good of a CPU and GPU? Nice build anyway!

according to pcpp the max draw is around 350watts and nothing will be overclocked so it should be fairly accurate

You should RMA that gpu if it has coil whine

Why buy a 4690 when you could've bought a 4690k for 15$ more?

this build was for a friend, he had no need or intention to overclock so it made sense to buy a cheaper cpu & motherboard for him

Plus, even if he did buy the 4690K. He would still need a good overclocking capable z97 board to OC well. So the small extra prices of both a Z97 board and a K sku would probably be an extra $40-60.

Maybe he didn't have the $15

Woah that mobo is thin! Great choice on the parts btw! You're the few people on this site who know what they're doing.
