Mostly For Gaming, basically went YOLO on this build. This is practically Everything at my desk, except for my Adalight setup, my 2 back up power supplies, my server and other odds and ends. Enjoy!
I expected 99 Fury Xs
Like your build. I like red but I think it is too much in the pics but that is so personal. Have fun with it.
One word. Amazing. +1 for red n' black
Yeah the Pics are bad, I Know . . . Thanks tablet cam . . . lol. Its not as bright in real life , the red is very "soft" on the eyes.
I unplugged one of the (case led) cables to make it dimmer and got rid of the LED strip..gosh they are bright...in the dark...scattered light everywhere lol
Title should be red light district ..hehe
Red Light District!? : o .. How did you know?? Haha jk. . I personally like it! Sometime i do turn off the case leds completely just to see the glow of my MB, gpu and sound card.... looks deadly with just the "light" red glow inside the case... if i can find a better camera i will edit my pics and add some "led off" images too.. Thanks again guys
How are the headphones? Looking to buy a pair.
Are the comfortable? Big ears cuffs?
How is the sound?
How long do you wear them until they get uncomfortable?
Is it loud for a person outside a closed door 2-3 feet away?
The phones are amazing.. Had a pair of logitech g930s and I prefer the Hd598s hands down.. Sound stage is awesome, must have for fps games..
Ear cuffs are suitable size, not to big but not small by any means. As for comfort it really depends on the shape of your head... I find that they are SUPER comfy and have just the right amount of 'clamping' pressure. My brother on the other hand said they were a little to tight on his head. But after he adjusted them he was fine...
I wear these headphone allot and I never, NEVER, have to take them off cause im uncomfortable . Nuff said i guess lol..
Now for sound... Out of the box they are very very bass light.. For most games its fine but for heavy fps combat (aka Arma , Battlefield, Cod to I guess lol) the lack of bass actually fits nicly... Most complain that the exsplosions lack depth but i find that it makes the whole listening experince more natural... I mean if I wanted to blow my eardrums out with bass and low frequency bursts I would go open up my gun cabinet and pull out my dads .338.
Now! Having said that I DID boost the bass a little... just to fill the sound spectrum. . I highly recomend using some EQ with these, you can really transform this set from awesome to F-ing amazing in no time... As I said before, the sound stage (aka the surround effect, directional sounds ) , if awesome.. Play some Pink Floyd with these bad boys and you dont even need drugs to get a trip hahaha... Few times in BF4 I had stopped in my tracks cause i heard sounds behind me, sure enough theres someone there...
Now, open back headphones can be loud, even for people not wearing them... HOWEVER, someone in the next room shouldnt be able to hear these... if they stand beside you. Yes . 3-6 feet away. Yes. 3 feet and on the other side of the wall. No. If they can hear these through a wall I would advise turning it down or getting a hearing aid :) ...
The other nice, and not nice, feature of open backs is that you can hear things going on around you. No more sneaking up on me while Im busy killing fools in Arma or planning my next war in Atilla. Other hand, if someone is listening to music on the ol' stereo I can hear it... Thats annoying...
All in all I hope this was helpful. I would not regret buying these headphones, but if you want more bass get the hd 595s (the other Hd500 phones). They have better bass but sacrifice sound stage. With a few EQ tweaks the hd 598s meet every requirement I had... Except a microphone... I suggest the Mod Mic 4.0... just got one and stuck it on these phones and BOOM.. I got my mic :)
Happy fragging, and hope you liked my set-up! PEACE
