Description

Build my first PC to replace my HP Pavilion dv7 that I bought back in 2011 that was running a i5-580M (Arrandale) with 8 GB DDR3-1333 memory and an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 (512 MB).

CPU Comparison: http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i7-4790K-vs-Intel-Core-i5-580M GPU Comparison: http://gpuboss.com/gpus/Mobility-Radeon-HD-5470-vs-GIGABYTE-GeForce-GTX-970

Video editing using Adobe Premiere Pro CC on the dv7 was manageable at best. To edit 1080p footage from a Canon DSLR required creating proxy files, despite the software still hanging up when trying to playback at 1/4 quality of the proxy file.

Hoping to be able to edit with the full 1080p files (without having to deal with proxy files) and at full playback resolution without long render times.

Currently running stock cooler on CPU, planning on upgrade if temperatures get too close to TJ Max while editing. 02/09 EDIT: Decided to buy the 212 EVO. May add additional case fans in the future if overall temperatures begin to get too hot for my comfort.
