Had never built, or owned, a powerful gaming PC up until I put this together in January (2016), overall it works very nicely as my home desktop for everything I do. Originally had an MSI GTX 970 in here but switched it out for the Fury Nitro after seeing the sweet deal at Overclockers.

Fortunately this was built before Brexit, so it was actually quite a lot cheaper.

Part Reviews

Works nicely, is only ever a problem in very cpu-intensive games like GTA V.

CPU Cooler

Had the stock fan on my i5 for a few months until I changed it out for the TX3 Evo - I'm not overclocking so I just wanted an easy installation that would decrease temps, and now I've never seen it go above 60°.

Video Card

It runs super-cool and super-quiet with a custom fancurve and a -48mV undervolt in AfterBurner. Probably a bit overkill for most current games at 1080p/60fps, but I can use VSR to run them at 1440p and in the future it should still be enough.

Having never built a pc before, this case made it much simpler to make things look neat (at least through the window!). NZXT's support are also wonderful, shipped me a replacement usb header/power button unit from LA when it turned out to not even be a problem.

Wonderful mechanical keyboard that I got cheap with a 25% off code with free delivery from the company's PCMR Xmas promo.

Mouse - SteelSeries Rival 300: My first high-end mouse, I love it! Though it doesn't have a huge amount of buttons (Just a small middle one, and two at the side for the thumb), the feel and look more than make up for it. Just a really nice, big mouse that works great (at least for palm users like me).

Nice! I'm looking at this fury card too since the r9 is only £40 more than the rx 480. How are you finding it? My ultrawide freesync monitor will have a range of 45~70.. I may have to downscale to 1080p to hit that range. What do you reckon? I know what you mean about Brexit..every cost / time graph I see has notable increases from end of June! Not the best time to build my new pc..

I'd absolutely go with Fury, I also chose it over the 480. Runs really cool with simple fan curve, performs great. Sorry for the late reply. Is also not overkill for 1080p, if you have that much spare performance you can use VSR to run at higher resolutions on your monitor

Nice build. It mirrors my own build pretty well. I picked up the same fury card tonight to go with a 1440p freesync monitor. Even have the same keyboard and mouse combo. I'm using an R4 and was thinking about trying out the NZXT you have - any regrets with the case? Finally, did you have any trouble with your PSU? I'm not sure my 650w will feed the fury.

Sorry about the delay, don't check here often.

The case was really easy to build in, haven't had any problems with it. However, this is the only pc I've ever built so I don't really have any metric to compare it by.

My PSU works fine - no problems with the Fury at stock settings and I undervolt it anyway
