I sold my i7 3770k + R290 for $650. I decided to upgrade for free and pocket the change.

Currently running at 4 ghz 1.375 volts with the Gammax 400 max temp 70 in Aida64. XFX 570 is 4gb not 8 and overclocks 1450mhz core and 8000 memory with +50 Power +.25 volts. RAM running at 3200mhz 1.35v

This will play any game at 1080P max settings while streaming easily.

Part Reviews

CPU

Overclocks to 4ghz 1.35V. Can't tell a difference from my 1700X in general use. Bang for buck this processor is it.

CPU Cooler

I have 3 of these and dropped temps a lot. The R5 1600 on stock cooling was 74 cel at 3.7ghz. 1.25v With the Gammax 400 I have the R5 1600 at 3 ghz 1.35v with max of 69cel.

1700X at 3.8 ghz with max temps 60

Motherboard

Good budget board. Overclocked my R5 1600 to 4 ghz and my 3000 mhz RAM to 3200 (didnt try higher) same timings.

Isn't the stock cooler on ryzen cpus good? or did you get a used one without a cooler? because it seems odd getting a cheapish cooler over the stock one.

At 3.7 ghz 1.3v the chip would get to 75 cel with the stock cooler. With the Gammax 400 I have it at 4 ghz 1.35v max of 69. I was not impressed with the stock cooler and I even used arctic silver 5 on both coolers.

The Ryzen 3 2200G comes with a smaller stealth version and it stays in the 60's at 3.8 ghz. It could've been a bad mount but I have 3 gammax 400. 2 on 1700x and 1 on 1600 and they are all overclocked and cools well.

Bought 2 of the same kit due to cheaper price. They work in dual channel. But purchased separately.

Cpuz verification in description shows dual channel.

Hows the PSU? One of the reviewers "Makes a noise when PC is powered off. I'm not sure why but it "hums" My wife noticed it and pointed it out". Does that happen usually?

It did it the first couple days and now works fine. I don't know why but it has 5 year warranty so I'll ride it out.

Damn, I need new glasses lol. Well that's good. I'm going with an Intel build because I already have a 1155 motherboard that come with my Pre-Built & I just want to play games at over 60 fps & not stutter lol. Though thanks again for the advice on the PSU, I'm looking for cheap, Good, & Reliable stuff to keep the cost down. I hope you enjoy your build to the fullest :D

So far for less than $500 my son is super happy (My build is a 1700x @ 3.8 + 1070 ti). Plays all games at 1080P High at 100 fps pretty easy. https://pcpartpicker.com/b/7HKBD3

What is you opinion of the graphics card you put in to the system

The XFX 570 4GB is a great card and almost as fast as my Gigabyte 480 8gb Windforce. I've had no issues running any games and the overclock of 1450/2000 is quite good.
