Build

First PC-BF4/Titanfall

by ZappoFTW

Description

I built this pc because I wanted something different from xbox and I wanted to build something with my own hands. I have always had apple products my whole life... Iphones, Imacs, and Macbooks. I wanted something to game on and maybe learn how to write a little code.

So far I have played Titanfall, Battlefield 4, and Team fortress 2. I have absolutely no regrets about switching over from xbox to pc, even though all my friends are still in the frozen land of xbox.

Comment what you think

I know the cable management in that 4th picture is bad. That was when I had just put everything in and booted up for first time.

I love it! Great CPU, Great GPU - feel proud :)

ZappoFTW submitter 1 Build 1 point 61 months ago

Thanks man! I appreciate it.

plgdg 1 Build 1 point 61 months ago

A bit clashy with the color scheming, but who am I to judge?

ZappoFTW submitter 1 Build 1 point 61 months ago

What's clashy? I have corsair link running the led in the pump to correspond with my temps...

plgdg 1 Build 1 point 61 months ago

Memory.

ZappoFTW submitter 1 Build 1 point 61 months ago

Fair enough... If I could get rid of that green MOBO light...

plgdg 1 Build 1 point 61 months ago

That too... lol. Put some black electrical tape over it if you can't turn it off in the BIOS haha.

Also, you have a brown mobo... but nothing else in your build is brown.

I'm just OCD when it comes to matching parts.

ZappoFTW submitter 1 Build 1 point 61 months ago

Imma go take a look in the bios

Nari 1 Build 1 point 61 months ago

Love to see Sabertooth AMD builds. How's that monitor treating you in the FPS games?

ZappoFTW submitter 1 Build 2 points 61 months ago

I love it. I got it back in the xbox days. Hoping to get another one soon.

Hoping to get that exact GPU for my birthday!! It'll definitely be an upgrade from my 8600 gt. I'll finally be able to play some decent games! +1

Graestone45 1 Build 0 points 61 months ago

What is your current build? Don't want anything to bottleneck, though I know that is an over used term.

ThatsPoorlyDrawn 3 Builds 1 point 61 months ago

AMD-6300, 8gb ddr3-1600, running win 7 professional (64bit) and as I stated above, an Nvidia Geforce 8600gt

My build was a budget build, and the GPU was handed down from my stepdad's old build. I don't know the exact model of the mobo, and the reason I don't have it on my profile anymore, is because something kept going wrong on it, and saying that I had parts on there that i did not select. So, I took it down.

Graestone45 1 Build 1 point 61 months ago

Ah ok. you should be fine then.

Harpzeecord 1 point 61 months ago

Sweet build +1 however me personally, i would have saved on the peripherals and pumped more money into the system maybe get a 780 or SLI 2 GTX 760's with a £1500 budget. However still a great budget and glad you came to your senses about PC gaming ;)

ZappoFTW submitter 1 Build 1 point 61 months ago

That's honestly my only regret, but when I decided to do a build, I had to get everything including mouse and keyboard. I had nothing accept the monitor. In the future I'll probably sell my 760 and get a 780.

Harpzeecord 2 points 61 months ago

Fair enough i plan to SLI 2 760's :) Its still a sick build and you should be really happy with it and looks sick aswell!

Really? What about a 780 ti?

Ludamister 0 points 61 months ago

I personally suggest the GTX 780. I have an EVGA GTX 780 Classified and I play on not one, not two but "three" monitors all on 1080p and this single GPU is capable of running Titanfall, BF4 (with some minor tweakage), Wildstar, FFXIV:ARR, Assasins Creed IV and plenty of other games at max graphics with 45-60fps on everything. Especially Titanfall.

I know I saw you mention something about getting another monitor. I'm not sure what for but if you are considering going for Nvidia Surround for a triple monitor setup, then you should definitely fork for this card. If you are on a budget but still want great single GPU performance, the GTX 770 is your best bet cause its basically a GTX 680 with a higher memory clock and you can find tons of videos of people playing on surround with just one of them so you're set! However...if you want to use something that's newer then last gen gpus and secure yourself for some future proofing, I highly recommend the GTX 780. It'll last you a long long time. And, for whatever reason, if it cant run any newer games on three monitors, well, guess what? You can just set that bad boy on one monitor and STILL be gaming hardcore.

I plan to get a second one within the next month. They are also going to release 6GB versions for the 780 soon too! So you can probably expect a minor price drop for them! Better for you!

ZappoFTW submitter 1 Build 1 point 61 months ago

Thanks for taking the time to write this. I appreciate it. Do you think a 780 would be better than 2 760's?

hitmaniac 1 Build 1 point 61 months ago

with this budget, i think intel i5 4670k would be a better choice. but i could be wrong.

ABJ117 1 point 61 months ago

How's that keyboard?

ZappoFTW submitter 1 Build 1 point 61 months ago

I'm not a huge fan of it, so I'll probably get another one soon.

Wils 2 Builds 1 point 61 months ago

Only reason why I didnt grt the sabretooth was because of the brown. Very nice build.

ITneto 1 point 61 months ago

760 on a 2000 dollar build?¡ humm, but it is nice! +1

ZappoFTW submitter 1 Build 1 point 61 months ago

I know. Like I said, that's my only regret

brunobarros17 1 point 61 months ago

awesome pc but if you´re just gaming you don´t need 8 cores. just my opinion

EpicBattleMage 3 Builds 1 point 61 months ago

Sick Build!

Glacial_Builds 1 point 61 months ago

You could have saved a bit of money on the case and motherboard. With the extra money you could have gotten an 770 but out of that, good build.

Eyoxiz 1 Build 1 point 61 months ago

Uhh, in the future, I would go with Intel, and spend less on a wireless card/motherboard.

SleathX1 1 Build 1 point 61 months ago

looks awesome, hope you're enjoying those great pc games (personally my favorites xD)

JurgaBurga 0 points 61 months ago

This is a pretty good build. I just think at this price point, you could've gotten a 770 or even a 780.

ZappoFTW submitter 1 Build 1 point 61 months ago

Yep
