Build

Meshify C Taichi z370 i7 8700K delid

by stgyro

Description

My new PC build after 16 years :) I use it mainly for my photo work and videos. Gaming when there is time. I wanted to overclock 8700K and get the most of it, so I delidded it to replace the thermal compound provided by Intel with liquid metal. No problems with this build, no compatibility issues, all worked well. OC results: Intel i7 8700K @ 5.1 GHz 1.28 volts on all 6 cores with silent adaptive profile set for all fans. Max I could get was 5.3 GHz but keeping fans at higher speeds. DDR 3466 MHz CL16 @ 3866 MHz CL16 Here is a video of my build - https://youtu.be/VkcWJ8xjmz4

I see you sprang for the expensive fans. I don't know what is prettier, your build or the photography skills that you used to document it. Awesome dude!

stgyro submitter 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

Thanks. Btw. Corsair LLs are better then BeQuiet SilentLoop stock fans :D so I was happy to see better results, not only RGB fancy functionality.

Aelar_Nailo 1 point 10 months ago

I get it, they are pretty much the best. They are just SO expensive! Of course, I'm not buying a 1080 and a 960 evo either. I just put a different budget on the system as a whole, as a student.

stgyro submitter 1 Build 1 point 9 months ago

Yup, 16 years ago I could not afford such PC, but these days, I set myself a limit at around 2K and build it. I want to keep it at least 8 years :)

Aelar_Nailo 1 point 9 months ago

Nice! Love seeing all the nice things! Enjoy!

stgyro submitter 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

how? :D

UsecRanger 1 point 10 months ago

good job this is the first time I've seen this motherboard it's nice. so +1

stgyro submitter 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

I liked the design of this motherboard and also that it had only one RGB light around the chipset. It was so simple if you want to add another RGB components.

someta 4 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

What? Only $235 worth of fans?

Nah, this is awesome! +1 from me!

Juicy_Face 1 point 10 months ago

Nice job but, can you add some pics of your whole setup. I want to see the whole picture. Also, Future Feature? +1

stgyro submitter 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

I sure will add more, need more time ;) and thanks!

cozybuilder 1 point 10 months ago

+1 for low shutter speed pics.

stgyro submitter 1 Build 1 point 9 months ago

:)

scanjet1000 1 point 10 months ago

is the cpu cooler really quiet?

stgyro submitter 1 Build 1 point 9 months ago

Yes it is, depends how you set up your profile. But interesting enough that default BeQuiet 140mm fans are not as quiet as Corsair LL RGB fans :)

All I said to myself was "These are good photos, these are good photos"

Love the camera-work.

Christmas Night = RGB

Longpig 1 point 9 months ago

Hey I have a very similar build, but was wondering about putting the fans in front of the radiator. Could you tell me how you connected the fans? I'm using the fractal celcius s24.

Awesome looking build btw!

stgyro submitter 1 Build 1 point 9 months ago

Just simply add them in front :D takes some time to mount it into the case as you need to use the same screw for fan and mount, but not a problem at all.

faizulj 1 point 9 months ago

Was it easy to setup the LL120 RGB? Software wise. I just got them too, but the LED's are super buggy.

Look at this: https://imgur.com/gallery/VmPXD

stgyro submitter 1 Build 1 point 9 months ago

You need to allign them exactly in the order into the RGB Hub. And software, just + add another LL fan and update firmware.

faizulj 1 point 9 months ago

I did that, the problem with my fan is that when I have only one Fan added in Corsair Link, two fans follow the effect.

stgyro submitter 1 Build 1 point 9 months ago

Hm not sure if this is a software issue, probably hardware. Mine worked well.

stgyro submitter 1 Build 1 point 9 months ago

And why don´t you have 3 LL fans added into the corsair link but only two? Just saw your post with photos.

I_Need_Big_Drink 2 Builds 1 point 9 months ago

This is my dream build if I were to build in 2017. The case, the CPU, the fans, larger m.2 SSD, etc. Nice!

stgyro submitter 1 Build 1 point 9 months ago

Thanks!

armdela 1 point 9 months ago

how is the clearance between you AIO and your graphics card

stgyro submitter 1 Build 1 point 9 months ago

I can not fit another fan between so push pull config not possible. But it is not a big case, so I was not expecting to have more room.

armdela 1 point 9 months ago

Yea from what ive seen its not big, but i had no interest in push pull, just a pull config

stgyro submitter 1 Build 1 point 9 months ago

So no problem. Not sure about the 1080 Ti, but my MSI 1080 Armor OC fits perfectly with some space.

michaelk9090 1 point 9 months ago

Beautiful. 10/10. It is great to see something that is simple and not some 10million dollar watercooled build or some 10 dollar budget pc that a 5 year old built

stgyro submitter 1 Build 1 point 5 months ago

Thanks!

GrimmsterZ 1 point 8 months ago

Absolutely Stunning. This really makes me want to get my hands on the Meshify C.

Do you recommend?

stgyro submitter 1 Build 1 point 5 months ago

Midi case, if you don´t need bigger case than it´s perfect. Only limitation is front panel where you can not mount 360mm radiator, or bigger GPU if you choose my setup. My 1080GTX has only few mm left until it touches the 280mm radiator in front.

c_clems 1 point 8 months ago

Were you satisfied with this mobo? I'm putting together my first build & reading so many negative comments about the BIOS on popular Asus/MSI/Gigabyte mobos and was looking at the ASRock Taichi

stgyro submitter 1 Build 1 point 5 months ago

Negative comments? About what? It´s not as advanced as Asus but it´s totally ok also for OC.

Dark_Chameleon 1 point 6 months ago

Isn't it better to have the gc in the top most pcie slot?.

stgyro submitter 1 Build 1 point 5 months ago

Maybe for better cooling, but I wanted to see more of the motherboard :)

DANIEL777 1 point 5 months ago

Those fans are AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So are those photography skills.

stgyro submitter 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

Thanks!!! www.jarolim.sk if you like :D

PrivatePengu 1 point 3 months ago

Nice looking build! Could you take a picture of the entire PC with the side panel on? I'd like to know what it looks like with the dark tint.

stgyro submitter 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

During the day? Its dark :)

PrivatePengu 1 point 2 months ago

Yeah. I have the same case, but I'm wondering what those fans will look like behind a dark tint

stgyro submitter 1 Build 2 points 2 months ago

It can be bright if you set your fans to max and it can be soft light when its at its lowest brightness. But if I remove the tinted panel, its too bright for me also at the lowest brightness. So most of the time during the night I use it at lowest settings and its just perfect for me.

PrivatePengu 1 point 3 months ago

I've never seen a better looking computer. I don't think this level of beauty can be conquered. I wish I could build it, but I made the mistake of getting a 298mm card, so I can't get a front AIO unless I go single fan.

Thank you for this

stgyro submitter 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

Thanks :) I wanted to have something simple but good looking.

SKK 1 point 2 months ago

nice build. i got the same case but i remove the foam like thingy at the front so more air can go in.

stgyro submitter 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

Sure I will add more photos, but had no time yet. I waited too long for Corsair LL fans to arrive so I could also finish my video etc.

stgyro submitter 1 Build 1 point 9 months ago

and btw. you can see cable management with that white light set for whole setup.
