Description

I mainly use my system for gaming, voice chatting, watching videos and movies, and coding. Everything seems to be working great and the temperatures are amazing. No complaints with any hardware. First build so it was a little difficult, but I managed to figure it all out with a little help from instructions. READ: I will be adding more pictures of my completed setup with speakers, sub and much more.

Part Reviews

CPU

Great CPU. Managed to OC to 5GHz on all cores with the bequiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 with temps not exceeding 71 degrees C.

CPU Cooler

Wonderful beefy air cooler. Was a pain to install but works like a charm.

Thermal Compound

Great paste, not much more to say. The amount isn't worth $10 though.

Motherboard

Great board.. stable OC for my i5-8600K at 5GHz with no temps above 71C. Poor lighting though.

Memory

Achieved 3000MHz as advertised.

Storage

Quick storage for my boot drive and all programs. No complaints.

Storage

Great drive for all my games. 1TB is more than enough for me.

Video Card

Absolute beast. OC a little. Wish I could change white MSI logo to red.

Case

Great case, great cable management, great airflow, top radiator mounting tray was a pain to pull out and put back in.

Operating System

Windows..

Case Fan

These have amazing airflow, LEDs are a little dim for me but overall, great build quality and looks.

Monitor

Achieved a 180Hz OC with no line or whatever other people say they see. Stable and I love the gaming mode for displaying my refresh rate.

Keyboard

Very good build quality.. doesn't feel cheap at all even though it's on the lower end.

Mouse

Great mouse. Love the weights idea but the mouse was already the perfect weight. No weighted needed for me. The buttons are a great feature and the DPI is insane although I never go over 2500.

Headphones

Great build quality and the 7.1 Surround sound sounds great in FPS games such as CS:GO.

Other

Just a boring ol' mouse pad but works great

Other

Very hard to bend and the cable actually popped out of my motherboard connection so I had to loosen up the tension, but they look great.

Other

Good fan hub even though I only used 5 fans. Small and compact, saved my life because I don't have 5 fan connections on motherboard.

How's the monitor I was thinking about getting that one. Just curious if it has any problems with you

I have had no problems so far and managed to OC to 180Hz with no gray line that many complain of. Overall, great monitor for my uses. Can be bright so I use the gaming mode to reduce stress on my eyes.

How did you decide on a cooler? I'm planning a similar build but can't decide between air/AIO. Nice build btw.

8600K.. relatively cool CPU - air cooler. 8700K.. relatively hot CPU - AIO. Also, the air cooler was cheaper and I liked the look of that bulky monster. Air cooler is easier to clean in my opinion as well, but much harder to install compared to AIO. What's your specs?
