This started out as a Ryzen 1700 build but I upgraded to X299 when I realized an MATX board would fit in the Lian Li. The Ryzen board was too limited. The idea from the beginning was to build the most powerful PC possible in the Lian Li case, not the most powerful PC possible.
I started an X99 build last January but canceled it and decided to wait for Ryzen and X299. This PC is close to twice as powerful as that planned build, costs a little bit less and is maybe 1/5th the size.
I still have quite a bit of work to do, the cuts are rough and need to be grinded flush, Need to put a door on it. Need to add some dust filters to the bottom and the back to keep everything clean. Drill got away from me while I was modding the spot for the vandal switch, it's not that bad but I'd prefer it to be perfect.
