Description

Goal - Build a gaming pc / machine that would run a couple of VMs to practice enterprise server management once in awhile | Budget - 2K (slightly over because I bought everything from amazon to use my Prime benefits) | Ordered parts the haven't arrived - Corsair Fan, Dvi cables, surge protectors | Improvements - Needs some more light inside the tower, Extender for sata power so I can hide the cable, another HDD for game storage, might flip PSU over even though I like seeing the white fan spinning

Nice build with a great colour scheme! Interestingly I used the same mother board, ram and SSD as you; +1 for that!

Loving the color scheme and build! +1 I have to ask though where/how did you get the custom white modular cables?

NZXT makes variants of that power supply with white cables :)

They came with that power supply. It isn't in the PC part picker inventory but you can buy it on newegg.

So how is this build for you so far? Do you game with this build and what are your impressions. I have considered a few similar components but I am most interested in knowing how your monitor performs. I bought that model's predecessor, the GL2450 HM, a while ago but was considering a new monitor due to wanting to get the best out of my build.

Everything is working perfectly. I've been downloading a lot of games on steam and haven't come across one that I needed to adjust any settings in order to run it. Monitors are perfect. I didn't have any manufacturing flaws out of the box. I've had some issues with other monitors in the past. I guess BenQ has better quality control.

May I ask what kind of games you are playing? My biggest concern is things like motion blur, screen tearing and the like since my monitor has a response time of 2ms instead of 1ms and a refresh rate 60 Hz instead of 144 Hz or higher. Thank you very much by the way for your informative reply.

FPS and RPGs mostly. I don't think I would be able to tell the difference btw a 1ms and a 2ms monitor.
