Received my parts super fast within days, with the build being strictly enforced at $1500 taxes in I had to sacrifice OS pricing, SSD, and stay with 8gb of ram that will later be upgraded along with an SSD add on. For the case being budget orientated it did go together very well and serves the purpose. The motherboard was very well laid out to be expected by msi with the manuals being easy to read and good for a wide variety of price ranges. I found that the 1060 6gb and 1600x were the best combination I could fit into this system with my given price range and I will have benchmarks and testing going on later this week for anyone interested. Thank you for looking at my build! Any questions feel free to comment!

EDIT: Yes I know the builds a little under budget though I had a strict budget of $1500 taxed and shipped :) Sorry for any confusion.

How is the case and cable management? I'm building in it when It comes for my birthday which is today.

Happy birthday!

happy bday guy

The case is good for the price though i had some issues with it that would be solved with getting a case at a higher price point. Like the cable routing by the motherboard is kinda weird since the holes aren't lined up with the 24-pin and just a few other things like the pci brackets snap out instead of being reinstalled. Cable management is overall decent.

I would wish you happy birthday but with how many people have said it, it would just be annoying spam ;)

Everyone is saying happy birthday and not even answering your question... lol. i would want to know that answer too because I was thinking about this case as well.

Memo1010 1 Build 5 points 10 months ago

When your 550 dollars under budget and say you had to make sacrifices to not go over

Nxck.Visuals submitter 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

Tax, shipping... I was still a bit under budget but when we ordered the parts it was strict 1500 not a cent over. Also with the rebates we could probably get the extra ram or ssd on the spot.

Nearly 600 dollar tax????

DOPE_FightKnight 1 point 3 months ago

Yeah, I feel like you should easily get 16 gigs if RAM with a $1500 don't budget.

Why are the cooler master fans sandwiched between the radiator and case? Not criticizing, just wondering lol

Digital_Ronin 6 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

It doesn’t look like there is any room in that case to put them right behind the front panel. It looks like he did it exactly right for what he had to work with

Edit: I looked at your build and see why your asking. I think I misunderstood. He has his fans in a push configuration versus your machine which is in a pull configuration

Jumpest 2 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

Wait no I mean why not go Front Panel - Radiator - Fans so that you can see the RGB better? That's just what I did with mine

Digital_Ronin 6 Builds 2 points 10 months ago

Ha I misunderstood twice lol. With the fans on that side of the radiator it is pushing cool air through it instead of having to pull the air through. It’s actually more effective cooling wise with the way he has it set up

Jumpest 2 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

Ah okay, I guess in my case I was more worried about pretty lights than efficient cooling lol

Digital_Ronin 6 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

Completely understandable lol. I don’t think it really makes all that big of a difference anyway unless your generating some serious heat. You can also work around it by doing a push/pull setup (fans on both sides of the radiator working in tandem).

Nxck.Visuals submitter 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

I thought it was the best for bringing air in :) I could possibly be wrong about fan position but that's just what i thought worked best.

Jumpest 2 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

You right, it's a little bit better for air lol. I just thought it was a shame the RGB couldn't be seen.

smw2168 1 Build 1 point 6 months ago

I know this is three months late but you are right to be wondering that. He mounted his fans a little wacky. But i think it looks awesome. The lighting is probably much more subtle set up this way. I have this case. You can mount the radiator and fans on the opposite sides of the bracket. with fans behind the front panel. if thats what your wondering

BitBoilOfficial 1 point 10 months ago

did you get any profit?

Nxck.Visuals submitter 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

No no just ordered and built it. He covered all costs :)

yHoundz00 1 point 10 months ago

Lol my friends just make fun of me (I don't mind it bc they're my friends) and you're giving your friends a PC?

Nxck.Visuals submitter 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

Lol, just built it for him didnt purchase :)

yHoundz00 1 point 10 months ago

True, but still.

Blackmost 1 point 10 months ago

ram 8 >> 16 is good

k3y3 1 Build 1 point 9 months ago

how much oc can you get?/ are getting

StickyChopSticks 1 point 9 months ago

Very nice build in my opinion. I have a question though when you built this PC was it around the time that GPU’s and ram were ridiculously overpriced?

nateo200 1 Build 1 point 8 months ago

Wow, I really like it! I think the case really helps the build. I like the cable management too, I suck at that lol...why only a 450watt PSU? At full load it will hit 72%~ which is fine but I like my 600watt supply just in case I want to upgrade my GPU....heres to hoping next-gen GPU's use less power (at least on the Nvidia side). 1060 6GB and 1600X do go great together. My original build had a 1600 OC'd to 3.9 with my EVGA 1060 6GB SC and it was a great combo but last month I got a 1700X on sale for $220 which made me a bit salty because I spent $221 on my Ryzen 1600 last October! I'm not usually a red and black PC guy but I like the look.

I have the same motherboard but the mATX version in white with the Arctic theme and I love the board. Many have said a 1700X NEEDS an X370 board but my 1700X is OC'd to 4GHz at 1.3625volts. My Ryzen 1600 hit 3.92GHz stable at 1.35volts, there are probably some B350 boards that have bad power delivery but I think MSI did a good job with this series of B350 boards, I push my system hard too, just would have preferred a better heatsink on the VRM's, the full ATX versions have two heatsinks that are really for looks but the mATX version loses the top VRM heatsink but the temps stay cool for me.

I started my original build and only had 4GB's of RAM and that SUCKED but I could actually play games like GTA V on my 2560x1080p monitor at 60fps but every oh idk 3 minutes I'd get a complete frame drop and stutter because the world had to render new data which sucked, when I added a stick of 8GB's in for a weird 12GB's I never had that issue again. I have 24GB's of RAM now and it is overkill, 16GB's really is perfect. I rarely go over 16GB's even when doing stupid things like playing City Skylines, while rendering in Premiere Pro, with God only knows how many tabs in Google Chrome, while talking to friends on discord :D

Have your friend grab another set of Ripjaws V 4GB x2 3200MHz ASAP or at least a single stick of 4GB Ripjaws V 3200MHz as there is never a good time to buy RAM for the foreseeable future. Have him grab an SSD for the system though and help him transfer if needed! I'm using my R5 1600 to build my sister a PC and I'm grabbing a $34 Kingston 120GB SSD! Always go SSD! I would have gone with a regular R5 1600 to grab the Kingston SSD I mentioned or one of the ADATA SSD's that also run cheap. Also maybe get another set of the same fans for push/pull config so that the interior lights up a bit more! Might also help with temps but idk how the fans that come with the Cooler Master AIO perform (I'm a Corsair FANboy, I love me some ML120's or some LL120's :D). If not another set of fans on the AIO maybe some RGB strips for the interior to show it off more.

When I spec'd out my friends first PC build I said he needed an SSD no matter what lol. We went with an older 6-core intel CPU, the 4930K which is roughly the same as a 1600 at the same clock speed, but can OC to 4.5GHz, has 40 lanes of PCIe, and quad channel memory but the budget motherboard he got couldn't take advantage of the PCIe or good overclocking!

Overall great build. Sorry for the long post but I tend to do that when I see a nice build! Really hope your friend enjoys his machine. Very happy with Ryzen and while I was tempted to grab a 2700X the latest gen isn't worth the upgrade IMO, especially if you have a X series chip and get a good one. Again, that case is beautiful and a great deal for the price!

My 10-year-old and I are building a gaming PC for Christmas. I am using your box build (except I added a 500GB SSD). Thanks for posting.

Mr.pug 1 point 2 months ago

Is the rear fan a 120 millimeter fan and can a aio cooler fit there if it is 120mm

orangejtt 1 point 2 months ago

Im building a system in a week or so ( check out the parts if you want) im using the Cooler that you used in this build, how does it perform, would you recommened keeping the fans that come in the package or not?

(Also if you checked the part list you'll see no CPU or PSU, it's because im using both from my current build)

KrayyonHD 1 point 1 month ago

Wow, taxes suck..
