i originally had a pretty ok kind of system. this past summer i got tired of it and decided to upgrade. sold off some parts, bought new ones and this is what i had been left with in the end. i was thinking these next-gen consoles weren't gonna be THAT much better than what i could get on my own. hence, DEFCON-1 was born. it was given the name because i was going for a minimalist/stealthy design, and i bought some black carbon fiber vinyl to apply. its hard to see in these pictures- sorry don't have a good camera. basically over the past 5-6 months i've bought and sold parts to get to what i have today. this monster only cost me about 6-700$ from my pocket (mostly the gcard and the powersupply), the rest was from selling my older parts. and it turned out to be a pretty sweet machine! i bought the ps4 on launch too, but ended up returning it because it wasn't worth it for me. i am able to run pretty much every game i have on ultra settings with a minimum of 60fps. bf4 runs at about 60-80 frames with ease. i overclocked the cpu to 4.0Ghz because that's the only speed i find the most stable, and when AMD's mantle core releases, i'll be able to get even MORE power from this beast!
