Rlake57 1 Build 2 points 27 months ago

I had to do a double take on that GPU. How did you get that on there?

+1

customgtp submitter 21 Builds 2 points 27 months ago

The gpu was fitted with a custom made backplate from coldzero

XxPCbuilder2016xX 2 points 27 months ago

How was the building experience in that case? Would you recommend it for a beginner?

customgtp submitter 21 Builds 3 points 27 months ago

The build was simple. Most cases with open windows or tempered glass doors seem to help you hide the wires pretty easy. This is a large medium case compared to the nzxt s340 I used before this one... In short, I'd recommend it. I do like the phanteks enthoo evolv tempered glass case. Built another pc with that and wish I would of spent more and went with that though... It's expensive

swans_to_be_kind 3 Builds 2 points 27 months ago

Love this build! The 970 pairs very nicely with the 8-core fx-series.

PSA! If you live near a Microcenter, you can pick up an AMD FX CPU and a nice motherboard for less than $120!

+1

Synthase 1 Build 2 points 27 months ago

Top kek. AMD 8350 and a dope OCZ SSD. Absolute goodness.

philphaser 12 Builds 2 points 27 months ago

Wish this had at least a RMx unit, but it's still sweet!

customgtp submitter 21 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

Idk what that is

customgtp submitter 21 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

My power supply seems to keep everything running. Thanks though

PigWithAMustache 2 Builds 2 points 27 months ago

Very nice build, I'm planning to upgrade from an FX-6300 to an FX-8350 in the next few months. Along with that, I want to get a GTX 1060. Do you think I would be ok using my 970 chipset motherboard with those upgrades?

customgtp submitter 21 Builds 2 points 27 months ago

I had fx 6300 and fx 8350, and I honestly didn't see too much of a difference

PigWithAMustache 2 Builds 2 points 27 months ago

k thx

PigWithAMustache 2 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

felohany 1 point 27 months ago

Nice Build , why did you go to amd and not intel?

customgtp submitter 21 Builds 3 points 27 months ago

A 970 gtx and a fx-8350 work just fine together

felohany 1 point 27 months ago

good

customgtp submitter 21 Builds 2 points 27 months ago

I've always used AMD. I guess I go with what I'm use to or comfortable with... Like Nvidia, evga, etc. Maybe I'll tinker with Intel in my next upgrade or build. Gotta see what all the fuss is and how much different.

diesel98a 2 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

+1, Nice Build. I really like the blue on white with the leds.

customgtp submitter 21 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

The led kit is the 10 color with remote... Can't remember the brand off hand

WhiskyNC 1 point 27 months ago

Great build, well done.

andresh12 1 point 27 months ago

That is an absolute sexy build. ESPECIALLY for how you did it for that price. I love it when PC hardware manages to match up with the case.

customgtp submitter 21 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

Thank you. I like the case... I switched from a nzxt s340 and like this better. But I did a case swap on another pc case the same week with a phanteks enthoo evolv tempered glass case and like that case much more pcpartpicker.

It is a little over 2x as much but if I could go back I would choose the phanteks over the InWin 303. But it still is a good case. Cooling system is odd. I'm use to a front and top fans.

Vault Boy! It's unfortunate that your water cooling tubes cover him a little, but I'm sure that you can see him if you look at an angle. Great looking build though. Props to you!

Secord401 1 point 27 months ago

WOW!, beautiful build friend. I had some of the same parts at one point a few years ago but you have made them look amazing.

FACUNDO 13 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

I can't find a build sexier than this one...

LEGENDARY +1

customgtp submitter 21 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

Thank you... I like my other build. Go look at my phanteks enthoo evolv tempered glass case build

FancySocks 1 point 27 months ago

Love the vault boy on the GPU! You do that yourself?

customgtp submitter 21 Builds 2 points 27 months ago

Yes, thank you. I ordered a backplate from coldzero and a decal from Amazon

vcn13 1 point 27 months ago

Congrats on the feature! I love the matching keyboard to your white set up. What keyboard is it? The lightning strip looks really cool (is that a skin?)

Amazon.

pappashaw 1 point 27 months ago

Beautiful, love the pip-boy on the graphics card.

DrWallaceBreen 1 point 27 months ago

I think this is the first time a >$1000 build that was featured

customgtp submitter 21 Builds 2 points 27 months ago

I also didn't include things like my 2 3.5 hard drives, my mouse/keyboard, or my 27" Acer 120hz 3D monitor. My pc is also connected to my Samsung 55" curve

DrWallaceBreen 1 point 27 months ago

You have another powerful computer... I suppose you build this for fun??

customgtp submitter 21 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

Yes. I enjoy it. I have the other in my theater room. This on is in my bedroom. My son has a nice white nzxt with a 950 and some older am3 equipment.

Scott_Pilgirm. 1 point 27 months ago

is it possible to ask cold zero to make a custom backplate?

customgtp submitter 21 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

Yes they have a section for request... To the extent I do not know. Check their website.

oneflygtiguy 5 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

Ok, Fallout fan, AMD fan, eye for design. Win, win, win on my score card. Excellent vision on this one. Nicest theme build I have seen in a while.

chadlstokes 1 point 27 months ago

Nice build! Just an observation: your description says "MEMORY Kingston HyperX Fury White 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3-1600; but your parts list says your memory is 32GB. I was just wondering which one is installed in your build. Thanks for posting this awesome build!

customgtp submitter 21 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

I have just the 16gb. My bad. My other pc has the 32gb of gskill

customgtp submitter 21 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

And thank you

flaberpengu 1 point 27 months ago

What lighting is that, a Hue/Hue+? It looks amazing! +1

customgtp submitter 21 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

Thank you... I believe it is logisys or something. Has the one led strip and a remote control with 10 different colors

flaberpengu 1 point 27 months ago

Thanks! It truly looks great!

kingelvyn 1 Build 1 point 27 months ago

how well does your 8350 + 970 work im curious i was thinking about going the same combo

customgtp submitter 21 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

Honestly Ive had 6300, 8320, and 8350 and with overclocking I haven't noticed a difference, i'd go with the best deal. I think the 6300 is just fine, clocks just as high as the 8 cores with a better single core I believe.

I just replaced an 8350 in my other pc with an i5 6600k and wow...That is a huge difference. I might have to do that with this pc. When people preach intel....there is a reason

kingelvyn 1 Build 1 point 27 months ago

awesome thanks for the reply I'm definitely going over to the 6600k as well when I find a good deal on it!

customgtp submitter 21 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

Yeah, I paid $238 on Amazon. Well worth the price. I overclocked it to 4.5 ghz with 1.23v and it was much easier than the amd cpu. Best cpu I've ever owned

kingelvyn 1 Build 1 point 27 months ago

hey i've just purchased that and a few upgrades towards my build too! i'm really excited

zoomas 1 point 27 months ago

where are the led strips? if you have any, can you upload a pic of where they are? thanks!

customgtp submitter 21 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

It's just a single strip on top. It is the logisys led kit with remote. Model LDXRM12C if you want to look it up.

DrClaws 1 point 27 months ago

What fans did you use in the pictures? Also are they white LEDs? Great build btw, i have the same case .

customgtp submitter 21 Builds 1 point 27 months ago

Thank you.... The fans are 120mm BitFenix Spectre, top are pro series. The 2 on the h60 radiator are 120mm phanteks.

newbee_in_pc 1 point 27 months ago

How did you put 2 fans on a h60 corsair cooler it is possible and it is a pull/push? Thank you

customgtp submitter 21 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

I love the H60. I've owned an H80i before and it is pretty much the same as that one as far as temps you just don't get the use of corsair link and the LEDs. I use them on a lot of builds I do. I buy the refurbished one from Newegg for $60 and they never have gone wrong.

cricketkiller 1 Build 1 point 26 months ago

Killerbunny6666 1 point 23 months ago

After seeing this buid I'm gonna go do a borderlands build. :P

No3r 1 point 22 months ago

Imagine building this and then it was able to run fallout

customgtp submitter 21 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

That's cute. It can run fallout just fine

No3r 1 point 22 months ago

lol obviously

Sk8ratt0115 1 point 22 months ago

Amazing build! The real question is, how well does it run Fallout 4?

customgtp submitter 21 Builds 2 points 22 months ago

Better than any Xbox that's for sure..... Just fine. I play 1080p on a 55 "uhdtv and its good. My main build is a 6700k and 1080 gtx and I play mainly on that one but when I play on this one I see more stutter but most of it is smooth enough.

customgtp submitter 21 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

Jigrumbus 1 point 17 months ago

customgtp submitter 21 Builds 1 point 17 months ago

customgtp submitter 21 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

I agree. I switched to Intel on my other pc and saw the difference. I don't game on this one as much as the other or I would swap it all out for an i5. Maybe later. This works with a 970 though. Not the best card either so probably good match

I haven't tested it.. The nzxt had really good airflow. The top three fans are oddly not pressed to exterior panel and idk if that will keep some heat inside the case. I like 140mm fans and this case only fits 7x120mm
