Description

Decided to try my hand at making a PC for myself for the first time because I wanted to have a VR capable rig that costed less than if I bought it premade. I was pretty pleased with how it turned out. I love the case and my NZXT Hue + LED lights! Only issue is the length of one of my fans was not long enough to reach a fan connector.

My only comment is that your water cooler is upside down. Corsair will not be happy. However: +1

Yeah I don't understand why people do that. Corsair designs those tubes to twist.

Lol I know right! It was the only way I could install it without getting the tubes all twisted or contorted in an ugly way.

Nice touch with the lighting. The 980 is a good card, but you could have gotten a 1070 for a comparable price with better performance. Gotta fix the cable management. I know you were probably excited just to boot everything up, but with a clear side panel and the Hue+ showing off the components you're going to want to run some of those cables through the back of the pc case.

More pics!

For what you paid on that GPU you could have saved a few extra bucks and get a 1070, which is better suited for VR.

You spent way too much for that GPU. :(

Where should I look to find GPUs cheaper? I just used this website which showed Newegg as having it cheapest at that price.

You paid too much because there are better graphics cards at a similar price point.

You can get 980ti's for around $430. The 1070 for about that same price.

The card was actually at $370 I just put in how much it was with sales tax. I also could only find TIs and 1070 for around $500 so I figured I could just wait to upgrade once I found my system needed it. But I totally wanna get a better graphics card later. Thanks for the advice though.
