Description

The hdd cages are bad. The RAM requires tweaking. Everything else is spot on. I love the 212 EVO

That's a nice console alternative there.

There's a reason so many builders use the 212 EVO as a benchmark, it's just plain great...

EDIT: What are you using to support your GPU in the pic (you really should upload a few more to satisfy the crowd here, BTW). Just curious as my 770 droops like hell, and I'm looking for something that looks a bit better than the small piece of 1/4" dowel I'm currently utilizing...

There are a few solutions, this is one of them

If all else fails, you can go with a classic

RAM requires tweaking

What do you mean?

I'm guessing he meant that the BIOS registered it as 1600Mhz and didn't automatically enable the XMP profile.

That said, enabling an XMP profile is not "tweaking".

Well does this processor support any faster RAM? I think you can OC the north bridge to 2200mhz on stock volts or something to get your ram at that speed but I might be wrong

The 750K officially supports memory speeds of up to 1866Mhz. That said, it does work with 2133Mhz memory if the motherboard supports it.

That's good news for me because I'm getting one and I don't feel like overclocking to get my RAM at rated speeds

The higher-speed RAM isn't necessary if you're getting a 750K. It really only matters for APU's and e-peen. Get 8GB of 1600Mhz, and you'll be just fine.

its default 793MHz

If you got DDR3 1600 RAM, your total price could have gone down to $500

His price would have gone to like $525.

I bought it for $50 on newegg. it was the best deal i could get so I took it without a second thought.

should've gotten an r9 270 not the x version, the standard 270 because of mantel and how the price to preformance is better than the 7850 by a longshot. The MSI gaming addition r9 270 is around the same price after shipping which is probably going to go lower in the future. Then again This is a very good bio;d that will be able to play alot of games in high-ultra settings.

mantle works on all GCN... 270 has similar performance

I know I was just saying that the 270 is the better option because its better than the 7870 just as well as the 7850. The drivers for it will also be getting better soon so even better performance than current benchmarks is sure to be seen.

They are the exact same Pitcairn gpu. The 270 is a rebrand.

The r9 270 is a lower clocked 7870. It's not a 7850 rebrand. 1280 stream processors vs 1024 in the 7850. Coupled with the fact that the 270 overclocks better than the 270x and the 7870, it's the best bang for buck mid range GPU.

Just as the R9 270x is basically a re-branded Hd 7870, same for the R9 270 and the Radeon Hd 7850.

  • 1 point

No, it's a lower clocked 7870 that overclocks much better. R9 270 has 1280 stream processors just like the 270x and 7870, while the 7850 has 1024.
