Description

Our old computer was 9 yrs old, and couldn't do much other than the internet, so when we got our tax return i figured a computer i would build is better than a store bought one. our budget is 650, so i figured that the best for our buck was an APU. I did my research and, total with fans i paid 600, which isnt bad.

I got the best APU currently, figured i would go with liquid cooling, its about the same price for high end coolers. made shure that i got a motherboard with an hdmi out to hook up to the tv and a blue-ray player to go with it to play bluerays.

1 thing that i didnt do is check which ram is compatible, the ram i got isnt that compatible, if i OC to 2400, the computer freezes, even at bios boot, it takes a few try's to bring it up, i lowered it to the 2033 and it works. i got the NZXT case and fans from WALMART!! i didnt know that they sold computer parts! so check there for cheaper things (well maybe). i picked up the case and brought it home and opened it and a plastic piece fell out. i was like "........ that looks broken". 4 of the 6 retainer clips that go on the front of the case were broken (that hold the plastic front on). i was MAD, but it took 2 weeks to get here and i had some epoxy around and i just glued them back on. the cable management needs some work but its hard with SO MANY i didnt know what to do with half of them, 5 fans = bad cable routeing, the case has e-sata, usb, fan control (which i cant get working), led, and the buttons, which is alot to hide, not including all the power supply cables. gave up after 45 min.

so far all i use it for is league of legends, planet side2, minecraft, and watching anime. wife uses it for sims 3. works great so far!! other than the OC'ing problem i had.

PARISE AND/OR CRITICISM APPRECIATED!!

update, reworked the wiring. the4 wires you see are in the back, nothing blocking the air flow but 4 wires! and the 2 benchmark picks are with oc ram to 2133 and with 2400, u can def tell a diff.

2nd update-ish got the keyboard, it is black and orange (dunno about the pic, but its the same model number). matches exactly with the computer.

Nice build, shame about cable management probally down to poor case design.

There, redid my cables b/c i was bored 1 day, what you see is the cables for the front of the case, but they are not blocking anything!

Yea those cables aren't helping airflow or aesthetics.

While I commend your boldness in spending over 30 dollars on flashy orange fans and 80 on a "cool" case for a budget build my inclination would've been to squeeze every penny into performance -- aesthetics be damned!

Just my two cents, though. . . at the end of the day build something that makes you smile!

You are going to always have cable management issues. That case looks super tiny for your mobo. Check out my build to see how I used all the space in my back panel to hide the cables. You can see how much bigger my case is in comparison to my mobo than yours since we are both running micro ATX. Hopefully you can get some ideas and start hiding cables.

Nice. Redundantly, I'd like to say that the cables could use a bit more work. But besides that, it looks good. The high speed RAM is working well with the Integrated Graphics. Enjoy it!

How heavy is this when carrying?

Enough to where I don't want to carry it by the handle (the screws in the handle are SMALL, but it seems sturdy). if I were to guess 15-20lbs, I don't have a scale.

I'm hoping to get that CPU, how does it perform with LoL?

LoL isn't that demanding so it should perform just fine.

never seen someone put the radiator/fan at the front of the case, usually at the top or where the rear exhaust fan was. does it work well there?

as well as can be expected, b/c i got a 200mm fan on the side for cool air. but its just the case, if you look up NZXT Vulcan, you will see its the only place to put it. it was made for a custom/ outside radiator.

they always say that liquid cooling is better than fan cooling but is it really worth the money?

I haven't had any high temps, and I think the comp looks much cleaner, there's no giant growth out of the middle of the MB and also no weight on the MB. I think it looks cleaner overall. the cheap liquid coolers and just as expensive as the high end GIANT cpu coolers and cool just as good if not better!

Good lol. I heard that the amd stock fans are horrible.

and one last thing. are there only certain Mb's that can hold a liquid cooler. sorry im very new to this

its more the case rather than MB, b/c it needs space for the 120mm or bigger fan.

I clean it about once month, and luckily we don't have pets, unless you want to count my daughter as one, but thanks for the tip!
