Description

If you're wondering why its way over $600, it's due to me adding my gaming monitor.

I didn't want to go up into the thousands to build a gaming PC. So I set out on a quest and did some research for awhile to build the best budget gaming PC I could. I wanted 1080p gameplay on all the newest titles around and even some old school gaming that I do. This PC delivered everything I wanted and more for the price range that was unbeatable.

CPU

This CPU is great for what I needed. Affordable and is plenty fast. Overclocked to 4.0 ghz.

CPU COOLER

I bought a Cooler Master Hyper 212X (Turbo Edition). This is plenty enough cooling power for what I needed and has 2 fans on each side. What more to say?

MOTHERBOARD

Very nice motherboard, has everything I wanted.

MEMORY

Ripjaws is the best DDR3-1600 ram I've found and cheap. Does its job well.

Storage

1TB is plenty of space for me.

GRAPHICS CARD

This thing is a beast and serves me well. It's the best and highest already overclocked out of the box GTX 950 I could find. Plays everything I need it to and even clocks to about 1400 mhz maxed. Better than most GTX 960's.

CASE

This is the best affordable gaming case that had the best reviews all around. I love this thing. Slick, has 2 case fans and cable managing is amazing in this case. Doesn't feel cheap at all in the slightest. What more to ask?

POWER SUPPLY

Powers this beast for a good price. So so quiet.

This is my first PC build. I'm not new to PC gaming, just new to building. If you're looking for a affordable gaming PC.. HERE IT IS

I found this comment to be somewhat disturbing for a reason I can't explain. But I do agree.

This case is excellent with maneuvering cables and placement. It made my life a lot easier, haha.

Hey dude if you want good graphics at a cheap price you should have waited for the 1080 and 1070 to release because i heard almost all graphics cards that arent next gen will drop to 2 to 3 hundred dollars so you could get a 960 for the price you paid for the 950 and so on dont quote me on exact price it might not change on line but locally for me it will drop significantly

Also i LOVE the sheet covering your desk. nfi why people get so hung up about having wood or glass or whatever. fabric feels much nicer. I have a 1 metre mousepad because of this.

Thanks! I prefer the fabric feel for my desk. It's more comfortable to me and I like the color also.

would this work for dayZ? the game.

Absolutely, It crushes games above DayZ without the graphics card fans even kicking in.

What games do you play and what kind of Settings/Performance do you get.

  • 1 point

I don't have too many games on it now that I have tested, but I did play Crysis 3, and have a consistent 40 fps on ultra settings & Dying light on Ultra gets about 75-80 fps. That's not overclocked. But then again the Evga GTX 950 FTW is already overclocked out of the box but it can be over clock to 1544 ghz.

It's a solid gaming build. the GPU compliments the CPU quite well, the case is great and the parts just flow. You did good.

Really cool looking build and setup.

I would highly suggest you overclock a bit more. With that cooler you can probably overclock to 4.3-4.6Ghz pretty easily. I personally run 4.3Ghz on the Hyper TX3 with both fans at minimum speed and is able to stay pretty cool. There are a few forums that describe how to get the best performance from your CPU. Give it a shot if you feel interested.

Anyways, enjoy your PC build!

Thats my next step! That was my reason to the get the hyperX turbo was to OC my CPU as much as I could for some better performance. I'm glad you enjoyed the build man!

Turn cooler upside-down, so we can tell what that logo says, lol... Plus, if I see right, fans on it blow downwards, which is wrong... Otherwise, very nice and clean, congrats!

Well the only reason I had to put it that way was the bracket wouldn't secure the fan into the motherboard the other way so I had to put it facing down for me to install the cpu cooler :/ I don't think it will matter though which way it blows, still cools the cpu very nicely.

If you've watched some youtube videos, you can find out that the difference between the 212 x and 212 X turbo is so insignificant, that it isn't even worth it spending the extra cash for the extra fan. But if you got it for a good deal on the cheap, then more power to ya. +1 top kek m9

I was wondering, would this pc be able to run Arma 3? It doesn't have to run it on ultra settings but at least be able to run it nicely. Also, would this run Rust, The Forest and Dead by Daylight? I live in Canada and custom pc's in the US for $600 are worth like about $770 here so the dollar is not very good for me :( Anyways, I really want to get a good pc but I still want to save up money for a car. Would this pc be suitable?

Thanks! :)

Oh definitely, this is excellent for a budget PC. I know its a little more than a console but plays at frame rates so much higher. It will play ultra in ARMA 3 and dead by daylight with no issues. I play The Forest all the time and I get a solid 140 fps, and Rust would play surpurb! For all the games you're wanting to play, this is definitely gonna rip through them!

Wow that's amazing! Thank you so much :D Also would the ASRock FM2A88X PRO+ ATX FM2+ motherboard be a good alternative to the one you're using in your build?

  • 1 point

Yes! That's a good alternative. I went with Gigabyte because of the great quality in durability and the great price also.

What makes this affordable? Please tell me. Here is an affordable gaming pc...http://pcpartpicker.com/list/Ltdnpb

For PC gamers it is affordable. I'm sorry but a $300 PC isn't going to play Battlefield 1 very well or any of the newer games. Cheaper is not only better when it comes to building a PC. Make a little sacrifice if you're wanting to play any game at good quality.
