Description

Built to replace my older Htpc this machine will be used for Gaming, Movies, Music, Satellite and Cable decoding.

The case fans have been replaced with two Silent Wings 2 Fans that are as good as silent. I also replaced the Coolermaster psu fan with one of these also.

I went for the Intel I5 6600 as its relatively cheap and I have managed to overclock it to 4.2ghz via BCLK. It is running very stable and has yet to crash on any Benchmark CPU stress test.

I'm happy with this figure and will gradually reduce the cpu core voltage to a level where I can still achieve the 4.2ghz figure.

The Noctua cpu cooler fits nicely and this thing will clearly keep heat down to a minimum.

Next month I'll hopefully upgrade the graphics card to something more current.

Update: I have now had this running at 4.4 Ghz for weeks. It has passed all prolonged stress tests and the cpu only maxes out at about 60 degrees.

I got it one for £79 a few weeks back that had already had sound deadening material fitted inside. They only had two in stock at the time

That's an interesting case. I love me some ugly Noctua fans! Nice build.
