I wanted to build a PC that was able to run today's games on high settings at 1080p at 60 FPS. I also wanted to created a pc that was easy to look at ( and be the envy of my friends). I do a lot of Gaming on this PC. New games such as Fallout 4, The Division, The Witcher 3, and Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain, all get 45-60 FPS with all settings on High or Very High. I could not be happier with the components that I chose and how they function. I am also very pleased with how good everything looks. Let me know what you all think!!!
Motherboard: MSI Z97S Krait Edition-- This is a great motherboard that has lots of upgrad-eablity potential. I would be able to crossfire is I wanted to, add a sound card, and upgrade the processor to a K edition when needed.
CPU: Intel Core i5-490 -- I chose this bad boy because I found it for a great price. I know that my motherboard is able to overclock, but I did not want to do that quite yet.
CPU Cooler: Corsair H110i GTX-- I know that this is a bit overkill for a CPU that is not being overclocked, but I will say one thing... it sure keeps the CPU cool. Like 40 degrees Celsius under heavy load cool. It runs great and very quiet.
Awesome little processor that can be found on the cheap side. Benchmarks well in today's games, but may start to show its age once games expand the 4 core mark. I would recommend this to anybody that is on their first gaming build.
This AIO cooler is great. Not only does it keep your CPU cool, but it is able to monitor your whole system with Corsair Link. I am getting ridiculously low temps on my CPU, which, in turn, keeps the whole system run cool.
This is an excellent motherboard for the price I was able to find it at. That are many slots to add whatever your little heard desires. There are 3 PCI-E slots and 2 PCI-Ex16 slots for Crossfire or SLI. The motherboard is also very sturdy and lightweight.
The r9 280X is the last generation graphics card for AMD, but is still runs today's games very well when paired with a decent processor. The only draw to last generations graphics cards is the power draw. However, that was not enough to take off more than one star, as this more than gets the job done.
If you want a spacious case with lots of room for upgrade-ability, then this is the case! Not only is there room for upgrades, but it is solidly built (I think is made of all steel construction) and looks fantastic. The panel window is just the icing on top of cake that lets you show off you fantastic components!
