This build is my tribute to Chris Evans as Captain America and the late creator of this MCU, Stan Lee. Most people know that End Game is his last MCU movie so this is my thanks to him. This was my first time doing a PC Mod so needless to say, I had a few mistakes here and there. This was an evolved build over the past year. I took a little of my inspiration from "Small Box of Skulls" by thatguitardude.
The first processor I originally used was an I3-8100, which is why it's only an H370. I would've gone with a 9th Gen non-K but I think as of now, they still haven't come out with a processor version that does that. In my future I do look at swap out and possibly another Marvel build where I can use a MB that has OC capabilities.
RAM, Video Card and Case were all painted the midnight blue to match the captain's suit. RAM and Case wasn't too difficult as there are some tutorials on YouTube on how to do it. The video card on the other hand was a beast of it's own as there were no tutorials specific to the EVGA 1080 FTW2 or any video card similar to the series.
As far as the custom parts go, I didn't really do anything on my own. Here they are as listed:
*GPU Backplate: JM Mods
*Right Side Panel: JM Mods
*Left Side PSU Supply Shroud: V1 Tech
*Front Shield: Etsy: Comic Sandwiches
*Inside CPU Cooler Shield: Etsy: Trevor Day at Enterprise XD Design
*Plexiglass cutting: Gofab
A few things to note: The shield has to be removed from the CPU cooler when playing games, I get the CPU topping out at 100 C and it can only get worse if I don't remove the shield that restricts airflow. Idle CPU temp is around 50 C which is stupid for idle. The shield is on there for aesthetic purposes and I would rather not kill my CPU than keep the look.
The lighting behind the shield is controlled by ASUS Aura whereas the lighting for the GPU backplate and the Side Panel are controlled by a 5V Molex controller provided by JM Mods. I had to buy aftermarket molex LED's in order to get the PSU cable guard on the left side to be lit up.
Some things I would like to do differently: Get rid of the SATA power and data cables, it adds clutter and makes more of a mess. I would rather stick with all M.2 and store everything offsite on a NAS. Trust my measurements. The 24-pin custom Cablemod cables are long and therefore stick out into the space more. I should've stuck with my shortened length rather than add 5cm to the cable. Go with a better CPU cooler. The UFO CPU cooler looks cool, but it takes up SO MUCH space. It also gets loud when the CPU starts getting under load, so I'm not a huge fan of it and in the future I'll probably be swapping it out when I also swap out the CPU.
Shameless plug, this is a gaming/streaming machine. So follow me at twitch.tv/tacpiztols to watch me play.
Thanks for looking!
