This is the build i made for 4k gaming, has yet to disappoint
went a bit over board with the CPU for just gaming but it was more of a "I want" kind of deal
The monitor is alright
Dorm build? Dropping some mad cash on a gaming build. I'd love to have this.
Needs a new mousepad lol, the Steelseries QCK+ is pretty cheap, but you should get an XXL extended mousepad.
I was literally thinking that yesterday
I need some opinions on what to buy GPU wise. I was thinking of either buying a Titan X or SLI two GTX 980s.
gtx 980s TI comes out in 2 weeks, i would wait.
oh sweet I had no idea they were coming out that soon. Thanks man :)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o5xdn2Cpme0 NCIX news is where i heard it from :)
That is absolutely NOT official. I just bought a 980GTX 2 days ago because I won't need the VRAM on a 1080p setup. They may release official info in 2 weeks to a month but the release date may not be till September.
I thought that too at first but it didnt make sense for nvidia to release it after the 390x has been released. Just my opinion though.
Yea I said fuq it and just ordered the 980GTX SC, I am only gonna run 1080p on a BenQ 27 inch so don't think I needed any more power anyway.
well a titan x is worth roughly the price of two 980's, and two of them will give you more performance over one x, but you limit your upgradability and increase your power consumption, its all up to what you want.
Me personaly i would wait and see what the new amd gpu's are like, but if you only want nvidea i would go for the two 980's.
I'm more of just an Nvidia kind of guy. Thanks for the tips tho, I am probably gonna go with the 980's. I'm a content creator for youtube and I also live stream. That's why I am trying to figure out if a titan X with a lot more VRAM would be better or have two 980s with only 4 gigs of vram. Right now I only have a 970 with an acx 2.0 so I'm looking for something that will benefit me the most when I am live streaming and or recording.
Honestly I like the titan, the 980s get a little more but almost cost a little more my end goal was to get another titan x in the future when the price drops a little but that was my goals your might be different
I'm a content creator on YouTube that also live streams demanding games at high qualities. At the moment I only have one 970 with an acx 2.0 so that's why I am debating more performance with less VRAM or about the same performance with more VRAM, but only one card.
or three 290xs
Two gtx 980s
how well is the gpu working for
I think it's great, I mean what are you planning on play or have question about I can give you some FPS
i might buy it with an i7 4790k or i might get the same setup with a R9 295X2 depends how the price is in August or September. Or i might go with an i5 with the same R9 295X2 Gpu IDK either way. I might go for the i7 or i5 most likely the i5 unless i can get an i7 at a cheaper price i just want to see. I might even get an i7 with 980 depends on how i feel or the price lol.
The i5 is more than enough for gaming I got the i7 cause it was on sale for like $350 so I figured why not
Can you tell me what fans are in push and what fans are in pull?
He has more VRAM than RAM. I would've gone with a 4x4GB (16GB) kit on X99, not just 8GB.
So can it run games on 4k?And if its possible with how much fps? (sry for bad english :D)
I am in the process of buying parts for a build, but still debating what I really want as this is my first build where I have actually spent any large sum of money. I already have a titan x and a corsair H100i. That's all I've purchased lol. Seems like a strange way to go about buying things I'm sure, but I got a good deal on the Titan and had a best buy gift card so I picked up the fan for $50. I'm intending to make this a gaming rig and want it to be capable of running games on 4k smoothly, but at the moment I'll probably just plug it into my 55in LG Google Smart TV and run it on 1080p so I'd like to think that with a Titan I should have ridiculous FPS playing on 1080p. I mostly play open world games(primarily elder scrolls). I was also looking at this same processor(5820k) for my build, but I'm not sure if thats overkill or not. And same goes with the mobo. I'm sorta unsure if the ones I've been looking at are more than what I need or not.
