Description

WOW THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE FEATURE, ALL OF THE SUPPORT, AND KINDNESS! THIS COMMUNITY TRULY IS AWESOME AND I AM GRATEFUL TO HAVE FOUND IT! I LOVE THIS SITE AND THE PEOPLE ON IT! HOPEFULLY SOMEDAY MY JOB IS BUILDING MAGNIFICENT PC'S AND MEETING ENTHUSIASTS LIKE YOU DAILY!

So first off I'd like to say I promise to do my best to explain all the mods, components and all that good goooooooooood stuff but before that I thought I'd share with you my story, and if you don't want all that you can skip right down to the build section. I just see too many builds on here with one picture and one sentence for the description and it's frustrating sometimes because I want to know what's up with these awesome builds and people! :D

MY STORY YO: I recently(ish) became a hardcore PC enthusiast and there is nothing more I love doing with my time than building PC's or watching videos about all that is tech. Except for gaming... obviously! I was a heroin addict for 5 years and made the usual rounds one does when they live in addiction. It started out with stints in some rehab facilities and graduated to longer and longer stays in the county jail. Soon after I found myself on an extended stay in state prison, first doing some "programming(basically rehab in prison)" and then doing some time. I've spent a little under 3 years locked up in various places and you would think that would have been enough, right? Right?! WRONG! When I was released on the 5th of July 2016 after spending a year down I was back at it within a month. It was NEVER my intention to keep going back to this life each time and every time I did I could not believe I had let it happen. There was always some excuse for it like I just got my heart broken, my parole officer is too harsh, or whatever. The real reason was I had no drive and no reason really to get it together and I had nothing to focus on and no goals to set my mind on. My wake up call finally came on the morning of October 30th 2016. I had been back on the junk for a good little while at that point and was doing my regular morning routine. Which involved driving to the park by my house and getting "well." I didn't know that the stuff I had picked up for that morning was a whole lot stronger than what I had been using. My guy had told me to be careful but that's literally what they all say, "oh bro be careful this is some really potent sh*t." Just to get the junkies all hyped up but this time he had meant it. I overdosed, alone in my car, on a rainy Sunday morning. The last thing I remember when I was fading out was reaching for my door handle to get out of my car. I had heard when you were overdosing that you needed to get up and get moving because that would keep you from passing out. I came to a few hours later absolutely soaking wet and freezing cold. I was face to face with the front tire of my car and I could here the door ajar tone ringing out of my car. I honestly have no idea what happened and how I made it through that but I do know that moment was when I realized I had had enough. I went home and told my mom everything and told her that I was done with it all. I have not used since then and this Halloween I will have been clean for one year! When I finally staretd to pull it together I spent a lot of time figuring out what I wanted to do and what I really liked to do. I discovered some tech channels on youtube around that time, bitwit, Paul's Hardware, Gamers Nexus, JayzTwoCents and a bunch more. I had never really heard PC gaming was the way to go before and back in the day I loved to game so I figured I'd take a shot at it all! I'm sure you all know the feeling of completing that first build and booting it up! It was an amazing experience for me and I had never really created anything before so it was a whole new frontier for me! I decided to take a crack at watercooling and started out with soft tubing and cooling my GPU and after that PETG. This is my first proper enthusiast system and it is more than just a build to me. It's testament to remind me that with the right goals and state of mind you can make anything happen. Patience and determination will see it through and I have to say it's been an incredible journey. Learning everything I can about every single thing that goes into a build. Now I'm thinking about college with computers and tech in mind for a degree and who knows what the possibilities are but it all started thanks to this! This keeps me clean and this keeps me sane(most days haha) and I hope if anyone else who's struggling in life, whether it be addiction or not, know that even the darkest nights give way to the morning sun! If you made it this far then I am flattered, that's my story folks! I also would never have started this journey without the help of my mom, she has been my number one support through this all! I'm grateful that she never gave up after all the scum bag stuff I've put her through! Plus I'm slowly converting her to the nerd life! Enough of all this though go check out the good stuff!

THE BUILD YO: The primary use of this system is gaming/benchmarking! I have plans to start streaming and making some videos to get the most out of it. Now before everyone loses their minds and say this is totally unnecessary, just chill. I totally agree with the unnecessary part lol BUT I am a PC enthusiast just like a lot of you. Now if I was into cars you wouldn't say "Hey guy you don't need that Ferrari, it's too fast and you'll never get the most out of it. Just look at this Toyota Carolla, now that's sensible!" Right? I hope not... Sure I don't need 64Gb of RAM or 10 cores but DAMNIT I wanted it and I love it now that I've got it! Also in regards to Threadripper I don't hate on AMD at all! I love Ryzen and I love AMD because what they are doing for the mainstream and the consumers is AMAZING! The only reason I decided not to go with AMD was clock speed and I don't hate on anyone who did go with AMD. I hear that Ryzen 2 is going to have higher clocks which I really hope it does! It's about time Intel started feeling some heat! I hope nVIDIA starts feeling it soon because they have gotten super complacent in my opinion! The only thing I am a fanboy of is TECH! I'll never understand anyone who fanboys for companies and I can't believe there are so many of them out there! In the forums and YouTube comments just HATING. I mean it's not like those companies give a damn about them, all they want is their CA$H! It shouldn't be a big deal what processor or GPU people decide to go with. I've experienced a lot of negativity from people when I was starting out asking questions on forums and posting pictures of my progress. I have to say it's pretty disgusting and a major bummer and if anyone out there experiences that don't give up! Don't let the haters get you down because that's all they want and you don't want to let people like that win right?

THE MODS YO: if you have any questions about anything feel free to message me Top Fan Cavity: I got this idea from this forum. It will give you a good idea of the finished product and most people are more than willing to help with any questions! I took a dremel and cut the lips off the roof of the case and the top of the removable radiator bracket. After that I could easily fit any normal 25mm sized fan up above the radiator bracket. I did that so it wouldn't look so crowded at the top of the case and there was no way I could fit two 360 radiators without doing it! I know it is form over function as the airflow up there is far from ideal. I compensated for that though by getting some excellent static pressure fans and thermals are definitely fine! Plus it stays very quiet even under load.

7900X Delid: I delidded my 7700K myself but I did not feel comfortable doing the same to my 7900X. Plus I didn't have the proper tool as the Rockit 88 wasn't certified to work with Skylake-X and at the time there were not any Skylake-X tools available. So I sent it off too siliconlottery.com and they did a FANTASTIC job! I sent it one day, the next day it was delidded and shipped back, and I had it back the following day! 25-30c drops in my temps was definitely worth the hundred or so bucks!! I have it @ 4.7GHz at 1.25v, Cache is @ 3GHz as well. I've gotten it to boot and complete some benchmarks at 4.8GHz at 1.275v but it wasn't 100% stable and I read somewhere not to push the voltage any higher than that. So I decided just to keep it at 4.7GHz for 24/7 use.

1080 Ti Shunt Mod: I watched this mod in a der8auer video and decided I would try it out and see if it worked for me. I can overclock my card to 2.1Ghz but it always would run into the power limit and downclock. Unfortunately even after the shunt mod it still hit the limit at 2.1GHz and I had to drop back to 2050. Honestly it didn't even improve my benchmarks by a meaningful amount but it is nice to see a stable clock rate.

Misc: I drilled 3 holes in the back of the case for the other pump in the loop. The honeycomb pattern looks like it would fit a pump mount but it did not. Drilling holes was easy enough though and installation was a breeze. I also have 2 phanteks RGB LED's along with the NZXT Hue+ and I placed one in the back and the other in the front just to create some cool ambient light. Also to the give the case a different look when you see it from the front. I also purchased the vented top panel from modmymods.com to get better airflow for the fans up top! It works well too I have to say!

OTHER STUFF YO: I decided to go with two pumps because I noticed with just one pump it was working pretty hard to get everything through the loop, it was constantly at 100%, and my temps were suffering a bit. I used to have a dual loop in my old setup but decided to just do one big loop so my GPU and CPU would get the benefit of two radiators rather than one. All the watercooling gear was bought from performance pcs and they will generally have everything you could possibly need! They are great and I have never had an issue with them! Anything I could not find there or was out of stock I got from newegg or amazon. The blocks, pumps, reservoirs, and rads are all EK, fittings are bitspower for the rotary 90's and t-fitting, primochill for the compression, and a couple alphacool dual rotary, phanteks stop fittings, and XSPC ball valves and male to males. The cable kits are from Primochill and the PETG is as well. The only problem I ever ran into with X299 was when the bios update 0503(i think ?) came out and my memory wouldn't get to it's rated XMP of 3200 or anything below that. It was 2133 or nothing and that was pretty frustrating but I knew that with new platforms comes growing pains and now after a few updates everything is working GREAT! I also had an issue installing the monoblock and the heatshrink for the led cable was not able to fit into space next to the RAM. I ended up having to cut it off and after that it slid right into place! You wouldn't run into the problem if all your slots weren't filled and it's an easy fix if they are! check out my reviews for my thoughts on the other components! I still have BIG plans for this build so keep an eye out for a build from Bootsyy

THANK YOU! YO!

Part Reviews

CPU

2nd review for this CPU and I have had it for a little bit longer now and I have to say I LOVE IT! Lightning fast and overclocks LIKE A CHAMP!!! I honestly could not ask for anything better! I'm not a fanboy for Intel/AMD/Nvidia/etc.. but I am a GIANT fanboy when it comes to tech and this processor makes my inner fanboy nerdgasm daily lol

Thermal Compound

Never would have thought changing thermal compound would have made a difference. I switched from arctic silver 5 over to this and saw a pretty significant drop in my temps for just a switch of thermal paste! Now I recommend this to anyone who asks and they are all astonished too when they see the improvement! It's great stuff!

Thermal Compound

I've used this now on 2 processor delids and it is EPIC! 30 degree drop, nuf said!

Motherboard

Had some bios issues in the beginning but my gosh this motherboard ended up being a great buy! Features for days and looks damn good too with the rest of the white I have in my build! Very solid motherboard and proves once again why I love Asus!

Memory

There is no other RAM that even compares! You all know it, you've seen it, and you gotta get it! Dominator Plats are cool and all but I have to say these take the cake for best in show!

Case Fan

HOLY GOSH WOWY WE WOW! These fans are amazing! So quiet up until the 2200rpm mark and they push some SERIOUS air through my rads! I had the noctua nf-f12's and decided to go with these since they have double the static pressure! I am glad I did too because they are honestly quieter and more efficient at pushing the air through my radiators, especially my EK XE.

Nater650 1 point 13 months ago

I don’t need 2 extra cores and a reduced base clock

gdneko 2 points 13 months ago

If you overclock (which you would do with an unlocked processor most likely) you will get around the same clock speed

gdneko 1 point 13 months ago

Ok lol

Dmolitor 3 Builds 2 points 13 months ago

Congrats my brother. I'm really happy you made it through the struggle and came out on top. Addiction is a horrible thing. I had a very good friend who i considered a brother that struggled with addiction, not the same as yours, but meth. It was a battle for years. Several in and outs of rehab, and jail. The only difference in the situation is on January 1st of 2016 he took his own life to end the struggle of addiction and letting friends and family down. It was one of the worst starts to a new year, and will forever change the bringing in of the new year. I'm happy you made it through, and found a drive and passion! Your story is one of success. I hope that one year goes to ten then the rest of your life and you grow old with a family that knows your success. I also am picking up Destiny 2. If you ever feel like joining, you can add me on Steam and we can figure out blizzard and play usually on every morning! Keep your head up and keep pushing through!

Bootsyy submitter 5 Builds 2 points 13 months ago

I'm sorry to hear that... Stories like that break my heart. He's not suffering anymore though and that's truly a blessing. I can relate though definitely. One of my good friends intentionally overdosed last year and it was awful... I had known him for a while and we went to prison together. But he got out and fell into it same as me and when I got clean I heard her had did that and it killed me. You just get to a place where you think all is lost, I've thought about it many times when I was living that way. What helps me when I think about it is knowing they're in a better place. I'm glad I got out and found this though because I know there's more to life than just the 9-5 grind and hating every second. Thanks for the support and PM me your steam and I'll definitely add you!

danielramirez777 2 points 13 months ago

I had to log in after reading your story just to leave a comment and say WOW.

Good on you for taking responsibility over your own life instead of living in a state of "everyone else owes me everything". You took control and cleaned up and now look at what you built! Its quite beautiful really, to see what you can do if you harness that negative addiction that was only self destructive to your own self and then turn around and put that energy into literally creating a masterpiece!

I hope and pray you continue to succeed and never give up on your dreams!

Do you live stream or have a youtube account?

If not, you should! Your story could definitely reach and impact a lot of kids and young adults out there who struggle with the same thing you did...

Thank you for sharing!!!

Bootsyy submitter 5 Builds 1 point 13 months ago

Thank you so much, that really means a lot. I don't yet but I hopefully will soon! Ultimately that's my goal is to help people avoid the life that I lived. Especially younger people because it can seem like it's not so bad. I idolized addicts in music, like Anthony Kiedis, growing up and now I know it doesn't matter who you are it's always a struggle. It doesn't make you cool or edgy it just kills you. I've wanted to make a channel for a while but idk what type of content I'd make really. I could tell my story but that's just one video and idk if anyone would see it? Thanks again though, the support from all of you means so much!

hi_im_snowman 2 points 13 months ago

Dude, make the video, we'll be your first subs!

DO IT! Also, just a thought (and i know it would be a TON of work) but if you made several videos showing the build process, your reviews on the parts you chose, benchmarking, etc... I'm sure many would watch?

amirite PCPP?

Bootsyy submitter 5 Builds 1 point 13 months ago

I think this might be a good project lol let me know your steam or discord and I'll keep you all updated. I'll have to get some equipment and stuff but I'm seriously considering giving it a shot!

danielramirez777 2 points 13 months ago

I think starting off with your incredible build and doing some reviews would be a great start. All it takes is some organization and determination and you could build a HUGE following with your expertise and story alone! What a positive impact too! If you'd like, check out this video I found that covers a lot of what I think isa solid way to start out... good luck! And let me know if/when you do launch a channel of your own! I would definitely subscribe :)

Not a bad idea! I think I'm gonna have to give it a shot! I'll for sure let you know when I do! PM me your steam or discord info or something and I'll keep you updated

Well deserved feature, congrats OP!

Bootsyy submitter 5 Builds 1 point 13 months ago

Thank you!!

JCMsergox 4 Builds 2 points 13 months ago

Hits kinda close to home, too. This kind of stuff is how I cope with anxiety and depression.

Bootsyy submitter 5 Builds 1 point 13 months ago

I feel the same, I love reading stories about people overcoming and changing for the better! It gives me a lot of hope!

Wi1dCard 2 points 13 months ago

I'm planning on having my next build be a PETG full loop in the mATX version of this case, so this is some real inspiration for me. The idea of putting an LED strip in the back of the case is really cool and I'll probably use that trick as well because of how subtle yet cool it is.

Your story is amazing as well man, I can't imagine how terrifying it must have been to practically come back from the dead like that. It's great that you've found your passion now.

Bootsyy submitter 5 Builds 2 points 13 months ago

The ambient light is super awesome! I'd definitely recommend it. That loop will be awesome in the tiny version! I'll definitely keep an eye out! Thank you! It was one of the first moments of my life but I needed it to get out of that lifestyle.

PresentsPC 2 points 13 months ago

Holy crap dude. Love your story and your build.

Bootsyy submitter 5 Builds 1 point 13 months ago

Thanks, me too!

hi_im_snowman 2 points 13 months ago

Oh man, right in the feels.

I think your story is incredible and I'm so happy you turned-around to give us some inspiration and a seriously pro build. No really, the details are just sick - you've aced it, imo.

If you have a few mins to spare sometime, mind adding some pics on benchmarking & temps?

+1 (obviously) :D

Bootsyy submitter 5 Builds 1 point 13 months ago

I will definitely do that this weekend! Thank you for the support!

Bootsyy submitter 5 Builds 1 point 13 months ago

Added a couple:)

hi_im_snowman 2 points 13 months ago

Awesome thanks! btw, that waterblock on the mobo, it has rgb? D'you have recommendations on what I can read-up on/watch on YouTube regarding those?

And oh yea, btw... those benchmarks are BANANAS. Christ that's fast... you have the same overclock as I do with my 6700k but with an extra 6 cores/12 threads... I can't even...

Well done!

Bootsyy submitter 5 Builds 1 point 13 months ago

Yes it does. EK has all the info for them on their website. They have a monoblock for basically every motherboard out there. Other than that I have not found too many videos/articles explaining any monoblocks other than ads or people using them in a build. I was searching forever for the pros of buying it and could not find much. What I can tell you is that my VRM temps have dropped from 80ish down to 40ish and my CPU gets 1-2C better over the regular EK block!

juicebox22 2 points 13 months ago

Great story! Mad props to you! Respect 100%

Bootsyy submitter 5 Builds 1 point 13 months ago

Thank you! 100% respect for you too!

If you are looking for any more tech Youtubers, TechSource and Linus Tech tips are great to watch to keep updated on newest computer parts, and, well, anything computer. They also try to beat the impossible, especially Linus. By the way, this is a great build. This is so cool. Thanks for submitting this!

You are a life saver!! I have an I9 7900X and have been giving serious to delidding it even though i've never delided a CPU before. I've just been really worried about turning it into a paperweight! I never even thought if there would be a company that you could pay to do that for you until I say this build.

Bootsyy submitter 5 Builds 1 point 13 months ago

Well thank goodness you found it! You won't be disappointed and silicon lottery is an AWESOME company!

ASUSTECHMKTJJ ASUS 10 Builds 2 points 13 months ago

Welcome to the PCDIY Community and thanks for being part of #TEAMASUS! Please let me know if you have a social handle to include if use your build on our social platforms.

Bootsyy submitter 5 Builds 1 point 13 months ago

Is this THE JJ from Asus?! Holy cow man! Gotta say I'm a huge fan! I love everything Asus! My next big plan is to get the rampage extreme and do something cool around that! Thank you for the kind words! I'm always checking out the videos you guys do and I'm hoping to see a motherboard roundup with Paul in the near future! And my Instagram is @whatrhymeswithalexx

ASUSTECHMKTJJ ASUS 10 Builds 2 points 13 months ago

Thanks for the feedback and response. In regards to your questions yes it is "JJ" always great to see a passionate PCDIY user such as yourself and one who considers and supports ASUS. Again thank you for your passion and support!

Bootsyy submitter 5 Builds 1 point 13 months ago

Lol I agree! Also rgb cable extensions and m.2 drives!

DeltaForceGM01 2 points 13 months ago

just to be safe minus well make you CPU RGB

Bootsyy submitter 5 Builds 1 point 13 months ago

lol I'm waiting for that to happen I bet it will eventually or like an entirely tempered glass case

LatiosGaming 2 Builds 2 points 13 months ago

Love the build man! Great that you found something as fun as this. I wish I could give 2 +1s (1 for story 1 for build) but the site doesn't work that way :/

BoyScout needs to put a special button here for more than 1 +1.

Bootsyy submitter 5 Builds 1 point 13 months ago

It's all good! The kind words are thanks enough, you rock!

ZombieX8 1 Build 2 points 13 months ago

Beautiful build! Have you done custom loops alot before? Can you suggest any good material to learn the loops? I want to build a 8700k dual gtx1080 ti all watercooled for my next build BUT i have never touched custom loops before.

Also glad that you have got over the drugs. Have a good day

Bootsyy submitter 5 Builds 1 point 13 months ago

Thank you! Honestly this is my 2nd time ever really doing any hardline! That build will be absolutely amazing!! How I learned was watching guys on youtube do it like JayzTwoCents(he's got a TON of videos on types of fittings, pumps, rads, etc...) and channels that build custom PC's! I would say just get your build planned out with all the blocks and fittings and stuff and then just get a BUNCH of PETG and dive in! That's how I did it! Just had a vision and wanted to make it happen! One thing I will tell you is it is A LOT easier than it looks to bend the tubes and stuff! Just takes some creativity!

I am so happy to hear that you're recovering. Keep on keepin' on my friend! We all have your back!

Oh, and the build is f*****' immaculate. WOW!

MrSlyWalker 2 Builds 2 points 13 months ago

My RGB Heaven. Wish I could have that build bro!!!! PETG tubing is beautiful.

Congratulations for you getting over your demons and welcome to the community. P.S. you could make the petg look even better with Thermaltake RGB petg fittings

Bootsyy submitter 5 Builds 1 point 13 months ago

Thank you! I have looked into getting those in the past but I feel like running the cables for each fitting and stuff would be a total nightmare!

LukeDuff 2 points 13 months ago

Nice build, great to see that you've turned away from drugs and built this kick-*** PC! +1 :)

Bootsyy submitter 5 Builds 1 point 13 months ago

Thank you! May the force be with you sir!

HerbyW 2 points 13 months ago

Give that PC to your future kids and it will still be overpowered! :D

Bootsyy submitter 5 Builds 1 point 13 months ago

Lol if I ever do have kids I for sure will! I definitely will build them something awesome too!

Workinnit1 2 Builds 2 points 13 months ago

What an awesome build, that is certainly something to be very proud of!

Bootsyy submitter 5 Builds 1 point 13 months ago

Thank you!

matthewdegeorgis 2 points 13 months ago

Congratulations Bootsyy, I know that i don't know you and you don't know me but I've had some very close friends that I lost to overdoses, and the fact that you could over come what all happened, it makes me smile and yes I know this might sound weird but I'm proud of you. Yes I'm proud of a complete stranger but this subject hits right at home for me and with someone that can make a PC like you can and with that talent, it all makes me very happy. And I'm so impressed by your build i actually want to build my own version of your PC, if thats okay with you of course, now be it I don't have the money just yet, still saving, but i would love to have this build as my own. Amazing build and I absolutely LOVE it!! And I Would LOVE to build it for myself, its so amazing!

Bootsyy submitter 5 Builds 1 point 13 months ago

Thank you that really means a lot! I don't think it's weird to be proud of strangers because I've felt the same plenty of times! Addiction is an awful thing and some people just get stuck. I want to do my best to show people you can pull yourself out of it and life a way better life. Whether it's building computers or whatever! You're more than welcome to build your version of my build! I'd definitely like to see it too once it's complete!

matthewdegeorgis 2 points 13 months ago

Im glad I could do the for you, I may not know your situation but I know of it, and I've the worst that is can do. But you're strong one and pulled though it and if your story could get out there more I know it would do good for many. And it could possibly pull people together and get off that stuff such as you did. Im glad you got off that and are clean because if not then we might not have that beautiful PC, and speaking of which it might be a good while because of my money situation, and the place I was working at going under and closing. But once I get all the items in my possession and put together, I'll defiantly send you pictures of the build I make. Also speaking of pictures could you send some as reference, some of the cooling lines are hard to see and I would want to make sure nothing bad happens and it leaks. Thank you so much, I can't wait to start work on this build!

Bootsyy submitter 5 Builds 1 point 13 months ago

I'll definitely do my best to get my story out there! I'd be more than happy to send you pictures. Do you have a discord? Sorry about losing your job that sucks, I've worked in places like that before and it's a total bummer...

matthewdegeorgis 1 point 13 months ago

I’m glad to hear that, I think you could help a lot of people with it, and yes I do have a discord, my player ID is Steiner_45. And I agree it is a bummer but there are other jobs out there and that I’m searching for.

Bootsyy submitter 5 Builds 1 point 13 months ago

I'll add you on there when I get on!

rmckellar 2 Builds 2 points 13 months ago

Hey man we have very similar stories, I have been out for about 7 years now. I'm in the middle of my first hardline build. Glad to see other nerds like me with pasts they overcame.

Bootsyy submitter 5 Builds 1 point 13 months ago

That's awesome!!! BROTHER!!! I'm happy for you though good luck on the epic build yo!

Bootsyy submitter 5 Builds 1 point 13 months ago

Thank you!!

zmac0135 2 points 12 months ago

Wow I know this is a bit late, but I just wanted to say congratulations. Your build is almost as amazing as your story. As someone who has struggled with addiction and got into pc building/tech as an outlet to keep myself sober I can relate to the struggle and am so very happy for you. Keep it up and I hope you have a very rewarding and satisfying life. This is an absolutely gorgeous build by the way. +1.

Bootsyy submitter 5 Builds 1 point 12 months ago

Thank you! Tech is really an awesome outlet and it's cool to know there's others out there with a similar story to mine! I definitely wish you the same!!

Bootsyy submitter 5 Builds 2 points 12 months ago

So what was more expensive, a drug addiction, or being a PC enthusiast.

Bootsyy submitter 5 Builds 2 points 12 months ago

lol addiction without a doubt

VZap 2 points 11 months ago

I got no words for how beautiful this looks and kind of an overkill pc, I'm sure gaming is smoother than ever on that thing!

Congrats on your continued recovery! I love your build and I love your enthusiasm. Keep building.

Maple_Syrup 2 Builds 2 points 10 months ago

Extremely inspiring. Thank you for sharing your story and your build! :) +1

Owzmo 2 points 10 months ago

I know this may sound stupid, but don't regret the last time you injected. Yes, it's wrong you shouldn't have done it. Obviously you should never do it again and I don't condone it. However, imagine what would've happened if you hadn't OD'd? Where would you be now, craving for the harder stuff or potentially dead. It's amazing to hear that you've turned your life around and made a decision to get your head in the right place and I hope the best for you in your future because damn, you seen where you were at, and you flipped the coin, you deserve it.

Good luck for your future and for all of our sakes - stay clean. ;)

All the best, Owen.

Bootsyy submitter 5 Builds 2 points 10 months ago

Thank you Owen! I definitely will never forget that last time and I use it as motivation to stay clean very often! It'll always be a memory that I look back on when times are tough to remember they've been a lot harder. Your words mean a lot though and I appreciate them! You're a good dude!

CapitainClark 2 points 9 months ago

Cool build

OscarGolf 2 points 9 months ago

This build is pc ****, I am very proud of you getting out of your addiction and your recovery. I had a best friend die because of him taking laced marijuana. I have only the best of wishes for you and your family. Thank you for sharing your story and pc

trylaarsdam 2 Builds 2 points 9 months ago

But can it run Crisis?

ok I know it can but still

Neccarus 2 points 8 months ago

Phenomenal story and build. What an inspiration.

LordElrond 2 points 6 months ago

Thank you for illustrating the tragedy that is addiction. I'm glad to see you moving past that and channeling your talent into something exceptionally remarkable. One day at a time!

AMAMazingYT 2 points 5 months ago

This is my favourite build on this site, I’m a huge fan of rgb and this is my inspiration for making builds. This is absolutely amazing!

powerup777 2 points 3 months ago

Water cooling is braver than I would tackle. I'm all about the pre-packaged systems (enclosed loops). Thanks for sharing the benchmarks at the end of the picture show too- awesome build and awesome story. Mine is similar in many ways less the jail time, so I'm glad you found an different path. Looks like you got this! Congratulations! Give your mom a big hug, she loves you very much.

Bootsyy submitter 5 Builds 2 points 2 months ago

It's definitely intimidating but it's really not to bad once you dive into it. It's definitely not for everyone though. Benchmarks are the best part for me lol. Thank you and I'm glad I found a better way too. Same for you, if you know where I'm coming from then you know it's no way to live. Jail time or not, it's bad all around. I definitely will give her a big hug and I love her very much too, she's always been there for me even at my worst and I'm always grateful for that. Now I'm getting all choked up lol.

finianb1 2 points 3 months ago

Love it. Being addicted to PC building is a LOT better than being addicted to cocaine, even though you may end up spending a ton for specs this insane!

MicroDot 7 Builds 1 point 11 months ago

with the GSkill RAM did you use their software or ASUS AURA? I can't get mine to show up in AURA

MickNarsh 1 point 11 months ago

Obviously we're all aspiring enthusiasts that'd love to do this as work 24/7 and thats what makes this community great is we all have the same ideals in mind but my question is what you for work, 9 to 5 6 days a week what allows you to pour this amount of creativity into such a expensive hobby

matthewclad 1 point 10 months ago

should have used rgb fans.......

BPU 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

ive seen those tubes with the coloured water in them before, pretty cool looking
overall nice build lad, i would probably do similar if i had the money

elgrian 2 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

How did you get those little eyes in the OLED for the mobo? I have the same mobo and I am a little confused haha.

Seeing these other builds with water cooling makes me so jealous haha. I've already put $8,000 into my PC and still have yet to custom sleeve, water cool, upgrade with more m2 ssd memory and upgrade my case to a full atx :C

+1111

Thanks! The EK fans are great!!! The furious vardars get up to 3000 rpm and are pretty loud at that point but they stay nice and quiet below that! The airflow is AMAZING!!!

[comment deleted by staff]
Bootsyy submitter 5 Builds 1 point 13 months ago

I've had no experience with bequiet! I've heard awesome stuff tho! But the noctua fans are great! Personally I had to upgrade to the furious vardars because the noctuas couldn't move enough air through my big rad. And of those fans you go with will be great! The number you want is static pressure and the furious vardars have the highest but they also are the only fan out if those that gets up to 3000rpm. I would recommend checking out thermal bench or xtremerigs they both have great reviews on fans!
