Description

(I'm a horrible photographer, sorry): let me know how I did on cable management and whatnot. My secondary monitor isn't plugged in at the moment, I don't have the appropriate adapter for the 770 apparently.

I wasn't sure what I was doing, I had never built a PC before, but this video was absolutely invaluable:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zOYdNEHDQo

If you're unsure as to how to build, the video is perfect. The guy's voice is also really easy to listen to, for whatever reason I find most YouTube tutorial videos to feature grating voices... A few notes:

  • I chose an 850w PSU because I might want to SLI in the future, and this makes it so I can just stick another 770 in there without any other modifications.

  • The RAM was on my mobo's QVL and I thought it was a steal for 1866!

  • The Samsung Pro SSD was $0.00 because I had one in my old rig, I just swapped it over. It was a Christmas present so I didn't add it to the price.

Carey Holzman brings out some great videos!

Nice build, and good cable management too. Might be wise to move the PC off the carpet, or pop a wooden board underneath (I can't judge from the pictures how much clearance you have).

Looks like a fairly hard carpet.

Really nice build!

One thing you can do to increase airflow is to put the SSD in the same rack as the HDD, and take out the middle rack (should be able to take out the screws at the top).

Nice build and I second getting that PC off the carpet. A piece of wood underneath would be fine.

Yeah I love it, especially for the price. It's worked out great, cable management isn't bad.
