Not my best cable work but it was for a friend and not me so it was ok.

Would've gone with some 2x4gb ram sticks to dual channel the ram, the cpu cooler is also not very necessary as that processor isn't overclockable anyway, the stock cooler does the job fine. Apart from that it's a very nicely balanced budget build.

I googled into it to see if single channel was really much worse than dual channel and all the results said it makes no massive difference and this way he can buy a second 8GB stick if he wants a cheap boost. The CPU cooler was due to the fact that he is doing some CPU extensive work and so i wanted the heat to be blown directly out the back of the case as the case has few fans.

That is most certainly not a Zalman Z9 pictured... Looks to me like it says Diablotek.

Yeah, not sure why it says the Z9, used it in my partners build maybe the part list save messed up.

Nice job with the build and cable management.

I would have went with some different part choices and possible alternatives here though. So I would have suggested 8GB of RAM at (2 x 4GB) and at 1600 for around like $10 more, a Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB instead for no price difference (It's SATA 6 Gb/s instead of SATA 3 Gb/s & 64MB Cache instead of 32MB), and instead of a $300 GTX 600 Ti I would have strongly suggested a HD 7950 for around $289-310.

For the monitor size that I see, the 660 Ti isn't a bad choice. It dominates the 7950 at anything lower than 1080p. If they're getting a new budget (ish) build, I doubt they have a 1080p monitor. So 660 ti was a smart choice.

Looks like a good build thought you went on a cheap case and CPU cooler
