Thankfully, I was able to get most of these parts on sale with discount codes and combos, so my total was much lower than the pcpartpicker price.
I've been a Mac user my whole life, but I've always wanted a really nice gaming pc. Now I finally have one. I really enjoyed researching and picking out the parts, but actually building it was awesome. I just need to get an 8-pin cpu power cable extension to route that last cable behind the motherboard. I have moved some of the cables around since taking those pictures to clean up the area above the MB and to take some of the weight strain off the 7970. Eventually, I'll swap out the H100 fans as well, because although the case reminds me of a jet, I'd rather the sound it makes not to. Overall, I'm really happy with the build. However, I do regret getting the H100 because the stock fans are hilariously loud and there are cheaper and better cooling options, but at least it looks cool. Also, If I were to do this over, I would probably have gone with a Gigabyte motherboard since they work better for installing OSX if/when 7970s gain OSX support in the future. I'm not sure if it's possible with the Asus board I bought. Anyone know for sure?
I'll be overclocking and running more benchmarks over the next week or so, but here's my current 3DMark11 basic score at stock clocks: http://3dmark.com/3dm11/3834811?key=sxI0Z7ZEJhgrUJ_gkC-WkQ
