As a college students space issue a necessary must solve. This build is to accommodate that plus minimize the hassle of moving things around while maintaining a powerful rig for gaming and everyday needs. kind of overkill if you ask me but i don't expect an upgrade until pascal gpu wise. Everything run great plus temp is pretty low around 20-25C idle. Gpu idle around 60C due to MSI no fan 0 rpm thingy which can change with after burner. At load the gpu is 60-70C this is mini case. There's barely any noticeable noise.

There is a component i changed which is the mobo instead of the fatality, I used Gigabyte z170 mining itx G1 gaming 5 which is around $165 on newegg because it's not on pc part picker yet. There is a 80mm fan from everflow which is like just for the flash around $7.50 on amazon. There only problem i encounter is the cpu cooler obstructing the ram slot but i made it fit lol (I know not ideal but gotta do what ya gotta do) and you have to take the front fan off this this case. Those aren't really affect the temperature anyway so it's pretty good. Other than that it's my first mini itx build so don't judgeme too hard and the cable management is alright since there so room in the drive bay to shove them in lol. Thanks for checking it out :) .

What's the speeds on that SSD like?

PandaXpress submitter 2 Builds 2 points 42 months ago

Hi, the speed on this ssd is pretty decently good for the price. Boot from cold start from the press of the power button to able to launch chrome is around 15 seconds. Load from mobo logo to windows is 10s. I did a quick crystaldiskmark 100MiB and got. READ/WRITE: seqQ32T1-562.1/416.2; 4KQ32T1-313.5/206.3; seq-436.4/418.4; 4K-28.15/121.5.

I only used to boot windows and maybe one game that i play the most so good enough of a performance for 120GB. Hopes that answer your question.

Is it just the lighting in your photos or have Gigabyte gone for a matt black finish on the PCB?

PandaXpress submitter 2 Builds 1 point 43 months ago

It is matt black finish. There's also little red led near the audio sound blaster thingy they have that that lit up top and bottom pretty bright consider it's just a small little area. :)

I think I see it in the 6th and 7th pictures. Looks pretty nice :P I'm glad more manufacturers are using that matt finish now... much less noticeable than the glossy look if you're trying to draw attention away from the board.

does that 80mm fan say something? woah, nice small form factor build!

PandaXpress submitter 2 Builds 3 points 43 months ago

Yes lol It said "IT'S ALIVEEEEE" XD. It is a little bit novelty of a fan but it work and cheap around $7.50 on amazon call Everflow. You can program it text. And Thanks :)

Love the led fan :), how was that case to work in?

PandaXpress submitter 2 Builds 2 points 43 months ago

The case can be rough if you going to try fit in liquid cooler. Most likely you will have to take the front case fan off. But everything else is relatively easy to work in maybe cable management can be annoying. I have small hands didn't really have any problem. And Thanks :).

How do you like the cooler?

PandaXpress submitter 2 Builds 1 point 43 months ago

The cooler is really good and very quiet to my supprise totally would recommended if you can fit it in to your system. It roughly the same size as the h100i.

Do you know if the M.2 port on the bottom of the mobo is accessible from below if the power supply is temporarily uninstalled, or would you need to uninstall the mobo to change the M.2 drive?

PandaXpress submitter 2 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

Necro reply but sorry im sure you found your answer already but as for my build i have tounstal the mobo to replace it but im not running any m.2 drive right now.

HI just wondering how your r9 380 is running now that you've had the build for a while as im putting one in my ATX skylake build, any temp problems?

PandaXpress submitter 2 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

Sorry for late post but it run fine temperature max when gaming is like 75 and that with overclocking. But i ran to problem with fallout 4 but im sure it the game fault cause there are no drivers for it yet.

SwaggyGrannyZ 1 point 38 months ago

How does the R9 380 perform with the i7 6700k because i am hopefully going to be using it in my budget build of £900
