Description

Hi guys this is my first build and it is great!!!

As an IT student I thought it high time that I built A) a PC and B) it was an awesome Gaming PC. I was on a tight budget of £1000 not that I wanted to spend that much but as you all know you have to pay more to get the best (Not in all cases I know) so I was very surprised when I found out all my components were on sale which brought the price from £850 mark to £700.

At the moment I use the PC mainly for gaming and it does not disappoint, its amazing. I have been part of the console group so nothing has really been superb to look at as I didn't get a Xbox One or PS4 so when I say playing I really mean looking at the detail.

CiT Vanquish is a really good case for looks, cable management and coolness. I was surprised at how quiet the fans are even when turned up to high on the fan control. I bought an additional case fan to accompany the three already in there because I'm new to this PC business and was paranoid about overheating. I use the additional fan as a exhaust fan and its never got remotely warm both with the fans on high and low.

GTX 970 there isn't a lot I can say here other that get one you'll never look back.

The Machine arrived last week and there has only been one crash and that was with Skyrim and the 268 mods I loaded and one broke it but happy to say that it fixed and there have been no further issues at all.

Well done on a great build! You should really look at getting an SSD when you can... Trust me, you wont regret it!

I know I did not create this comment but A 120GB will do fine, it will fit your Operating System and a dozen games, which you use the most, use the 1TB for all the other things like photos and the games you dont use, I have not yet made my PC Yet, but 2 weeks of Researching I assure you will hear this from a Pro :P Even though I'm not a pro, just a novice :)

(but 250gb/500gb will do fine to, just depends on how many games you play - 1TB is really no point unless you use it for photos aswell but for the money 120GB Will do the job)

Hahaha Cheers!! I play Witcher 3, all the Total wars, Shadow of Mordor, Farcry 4, Planetside 2, Skyrim with 450+ mods and a fair few others but these are the most demanding games I have.

Is a 500 watt power supply completely good enough? Also, nice build! Mine will be almost similar.

Yes, by far!!! Im sure a lot of people will agree and disagree with how many watts you need, but as I am using one right now I have had no issues at all. My estimated watt use is 350 so there is plenty of room for upgrading/adding to your build with no need to worry.

Are you planning to overclock your i5 and is 500w enough?

No I don't plan to OC as all of my components do everything so well as they are.

Yep, 500w is plenty for this build. If you were to add a second graphics card then no you'd need some more power but as is, with just the one graphics card its fine :D
