Description

I built Betty to play everything I'm currently playing on ultra with high frames, along with video editing and maybe streaming further down the line.

I also left myself room for upgradability down the line (Another 32GB ram and another 1080ti)

Runs cool, using gigabyte's OC tuner, @4.9Ghz runs nice and smooth.

Cinebench score before overclock - 1276 and 100.13fps Cinebench score after overclock - 1571 and 134.45fps

Build went really smoothly, only took 30-40mins, hardest part was getting the AIO plate to line up behind the CPU, apart from that it went really quickly!

Apologies for not having many pictures of the build, I just got in the zone and cranked it out real quick.

Part Reviews

CPU

Factory turbo 4.7Ghz scores 1571 and 134.45fps on Cinibench when partnered with a 1080ti.

Runs cool with an AIO, I love this CPU!

CPU Cooler

Keeps my overclocked 8700k cool, the back-plate is a bit fiddly to get it on, but I managed it after a couple of trys.

Video Card

It's a 1080ti, you can't beat it- because it's a mini it does get a bit hot when under heavy load for a long time, but not high enough to start worrying about.

Case

Brought off eBay where it was either receive a Black or a Titanium finish, I wanted black initially but the titanium looks really good! I had to mount my SSD's on top of the trays as they were too wide, but that's the only downside for me. Looks good, easy to build in, lots of space!

Operating System

Bargain of the century I got here, I still hate the start menu so I used Classic Shell to skin it back to Windows 7 and I'm happy with it now.

Wireless Network Adapter

Insane range, I'm at the back of my house and the wireless is at the front, I get full bars and it stays consistent. I only have it as a backup if I need it, but it's truly awesome!

Keyboard

My previous keyboard was Cherry MX Blue's, way too loud to be playing at 3am, brought the Strafe because it had browns and was pretty cheap with a fullsize enter key and RGB, It's a really nice keyboard, I may upgrade eventually but it's good for now!

Mouse

I have small hands and this mouse is slightly on the larger side for me, it's perfectly usable though, just makes it a stretch occasionally for the G buttons, other than that it's great!

Headphones

I got the 250ohms version 2nd hand, they're honestly the best headphones I've ever owned, and I'm kicking myself that I didn't buy them earlier!

I didn't even think about inside pictures :') A couple are up now, excuse the cables being a bit of a mess.. I really just wanted to start playing and still haven't bothered sorting it :p

Sick build man! But one thing I would advise is to move the two RAM Sticks into the Primary slots (Grey colored Slot holders). Not major & won't cause harm to the system, but you might find your RAM will run a lot smoother and/or faster! :)

I didn't realise the greys were primary, I just presumed that they'd be secondary's for some reason :') Thanks for that it's been switched over now!
