Description

I wanted to do a clean, all white build that can be used for gaming as well as school and business etc. All parts were carefully selected to suit my needs, as well as the color scheme. This was my first build. It took about 15 hours of assembling and tinkering before I was able to get it up and running (also about $1300 for parts). It's a beast. Beautiful look with white RAM, a white GPU, and an Hue+ LED system. I switched over from a Mac desktop, and I will never touch one again. It also blows my Xbox One out of the water in 1080p. This is an awesome NZXT case and it looks super clean. I call this my Mac and Xbox One killer! It has been an incredibly rewarding experience and a big thanks to this website and the community for helping me along the way!

White Lightning (Xbox One and Mac Killer)

No need to put Mac killer, we all know an Xbox can beat a Mac, therefore if your computer can beat an Xbox (which it clearly can) than it completely annihilates apple's worthless piece of poo computers.

Yeah I just put it because I own both of them. Love my setup so far. But yes Apple has nothing on assembling your own!

Nice build overall! Your PC killed them, then teabagged them lol! BUT, there are some things I think you should have improved on. The CPU is a skylake yes, but i5-4690k has very similar performance and overclocking potential, and a lot cheaper too. Also one of the other reasons I don't like the CPU is because you HAVE to use DDR4 ram, which is actually slower than DDR3 ram, this might change, but right now DDR4 is slower. Everything else is good though.

May the Steam sales be with you.

How is it slower?

I am curious as well.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OY7ERUzE8ds As you can see, DDR3 is faster but only until you get to the highest speeds, but at the prices DDR4 would be at it wouldn't be worth it for 2 fps.

Hahah thanks bud! Appreciate the advice. With this being my first build, I was a bit nervous about OC, but I definitely need to look into that for the future. I didnt know that about DDR4 though. In most builds that I saw people were using DDR4.

I thing this is too overkill for a Xbox 1 (no hate involved).

Great build overall +1.

Congrats on your new build. If you want to overclock, with something like an H7 and the non k oc bios for your board, you can pull some extra performance out of that locked processor.

Thanks! Can you elaborate on that please? Sounds intriguing! What is an H7?

The H7 is great cpu cooler from Cryorig. You have a number of other great options depending on where you live. Where do you live?

You can learn about non-k overclocking here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qzwOyL1c-w

MSI was pressured by Intel to remove their non k overclocking Bios downloads, but most of them have been archived at Overclocking.Guide. Here is a link to yours: http://overclocking.guide/download/msi-z170a-gaming-pro-non-k-oc-bios-6/

I'd be glad to help if you have any questions.

No problem. I have my i5-6500 overclocked on my ASRock board.

Be sure to double-check that you have the right mobo model, and don't interrupt your BIOS update. If you mess it up, you'll have to RMA your mobo; this is the case whenever you update your BIOS, whether it's for non-k overclocking or not.

If you take it step by step everything will go smoothly.

How is the performance of your i5-6500 overclocked? I am going to order an H7 as soon as I hear back from you.

Hey there, quick question, did you bought the leds by your own? or are already included in the s340. Great build btw gj.
