Description

My last five builds have all been Intel with invidia cards, and I felt it was time to support the competition. I wanted to go with a black and red theme to match the AMD brand. I am building this pc for Dota 2, Quake champions, and CS GO. I had a decent amount of problems with this build. Not quite a nightmare yet it was getting close.

Part Reviews

CPU

I have not Overclocked yet. I am happy so far though.

CPU Cooler

I have not Overclocked yet. I am happy so far though.

Motherboard

I didn't need to get this board, I just wanted to. I hope it will overclock well.

Memory

The only part I purchased used. Currently it is clocked to 3200.

Storage

I know I overpaid. I should have got the EVO.

Storage

For some reason setting up a raid behind an m.2 boot drive on a amd platform is not the easiest thing to get done. Before you install windows have raid selected in bios, yet do not create the array. Then install windows. Then get AMD's RAIDXPERT2 installed and use it to create array. Reboot and use disk management to finish.

Video Card

I jumped from a gtx 960 to this..... Yeah I am happy.

Case

Both power and reset buttons were stuck on. Had to remove front panel. Then remove the inner front panel to get at the plastic buttons and file them down to get them to work properly.

Monitor

my first screen with better than 60hz WOW!

Headphones

Headphones come with a single cord that has the mic and speakers on the same plug and a usb sound card to plug them into. To bad the usb dongle sounds like garbage and my input signal from my mic was so distorted nobody could understand me. I was lucky that my Ruiju controller had a compatible jack.

Speakers

These sound very good. Nice bass levels.

If you are gaming it is recommended to just use the XFR2.0 self boost on the CPU instead of manually overclocking. Love the build and +1 for the mouse mat, I use the exact same one!
