Description

This is my daily driver. When picking the case I had this vision that I would put in a full size GPU such as the EVGA 970, but turns out the Intel HD 4600 is way more than I need for day to day usage at 1080p. I do not game no benefits for me. But if you did game, this would be a insane VERY SMALL rig if you just popped in a GTX 970.

( NOTE: There is still room to add to this build either a full size GTX 970 or 750ti + full size 3.5 inch HD. Lots of empty space)

  • I have the CPU over clocked to 4.4GHz.. at 1.264 volts. I could not get 4.5GHz stable
  • I have the Intel HD 4600 GPU overclocked to 1550 mhz.. this actually make a significant difference. Wow...

I have the 3 840 evos in RAID 0 and boot from here. This gets 1.6gb per second sequential reads and saturates the built in Intel SATA RAID capabilities. (IE, a 4th drive would still only get 1.6gb per second reads). 512k reads are in the 700mb / second range. These drives are just placed on the side of the case. I had to remove all cages to put in the water cooler.

The 2.5 inch 2tb drive just floats on top.

NOTE: I also swapped out the fan on the Silverstone power supply. It was the loudest part of the system. I replaced with a NB-BlackSilentPRO 80mm x 15mm. Huge difference

Why the electrical tape over the power button? Does a plethora of needless lights annoy you as well?

Yes. at night, that blue light is like a night lamp. Even in the day it is overwhelming.

Not true on smallest. His is smaller with OC and full size card: http://pcpartpicker.com/b/Jtr7YJ

Same with the NCASE M1 mentioned as well on his page.

Wow. you got me. the Lian is 12 cubic inches smaller. BUT.. not sure how he would get in a dual full size 120mm fan Radiator in there as well as 4 2.5 inch drives.

That little flat cooler will not support overclocking.

Did more research. You the case in the build you reference DOES NOT fit a full size 10.5 inch card or a Dual 120mm Full size fan Rad. Sticking with my original statement. :)

Forgive me for doubting, but wouldn't the noctua fan and radiator get in the way of a full size card? From picture 1 and 4, it looks like you'd have to subtract the rad and fan thickness from the card length.

Nope. it fits like a glove. The card goes on the side of the Rad near the open grill on the case. (though it does touch it). I put a picee electoral tape there). It fits a full 10.5 inch card full height card with an open grill on the vents.

None the less, I sold and replaced my EVGA 970 full length and got a half length 970 and a 5tb hard drive instead. they both fit in that area even with the Dual Noctua fans' rad setup.
