Description

While working towards my B.S. in computer science, I finally realized that I required a little more power than my 2011 MacBook Pro had to offer. While designing this build, I had some things in mind: it had to be well cooled. I plan on writing software that will run for extended periods of time so it needed to be fast as well. The GTX 970 offers great graphics, but I also wanted a GPU that would be useful with Cryptography. I have some deep seeded interests in Network Security, and thought that this card would more than do the job. The ram may be expanded in the future to help with boosting the power of some virtual machines like Kali.

I really liked the Enermax fans that I saw in easynator's "Project Orange Horizon" build, but I really didn't have any more space for fans; this forced me to remove the stock fans from the H100i and replace them with the enermax fans. Windows 8.1 was installed on the SSD (About 3-5 second boot time), and I use the Caviar Blue for storage. Just a side note, The Corsair PSU is really great. Completely modular and really efficient.

Thanks for checking out my build!

For a moment there, thought you were using and air 240case. Was scratching my head how you managed to fit an h100 on the top. Then it hit me. +1

Put an ice pack on it, swelling went down rather quick.

Why didn't you go with a cheaper, faster i7 4790k. You clould have, for $20 cheaper gotten 2400 ram. Still, I lolve this build +1

Error on my part! I actually used the 4790K, just added the wrong one on the build inventory!

You could have gotten an i7-5820K seeing as you spent way too much on the RAM and PSU.

I still don't understand why you went with the 4770K instead of just getting the 4790K.
